Yeah he does now Whistle

Without selling him we wouldn't have been able to bring in May, Hope & Drenthe...and any other potential signings SG may make, without that we would have been a lot weaker, not saying anything against Antonio but our squad would be even more threadbare & our forward line would have been as weak as last season in terms of quality. MM knew that Mamma's takeover wouldn't happen so he decided that by selling Antonio we would have been able to bring in some players and improve the team...which I think the three players that came in after MA have done, had HM not been dodgier than Del Boy then Antonio would have still been here I think and the three players would have come in too, along with others. Thumb up

Whilst MA in our current squad would make us even more dangerous, I'm still not upset about it as the three players SG was able to bring in are all good players whom have improved us.
We are MASSIVE again!!!

Hope & Drenthe could have come without the sale as they are costing us next to nothing.

Apparently, would needed to sell Antonio to get May. My issue is that if we had Antonio then May would have scored more goals. In fact I reckon, we would be where Forest are now & they would be where we are now.

Antonio was outstanding again yesterday even though several Wednesday fans have said he was rubbish on another Forum. He still notched up another assist & won the MOTM.

The League could be very close this season & but for £800k, we could have got promotion.

Antonio's problem for us was his injuries & SG's style of play. He is good player, no doubt about it but admittedly he is playing in a very, very good team that play more to his strengths whereas under SG, he likes his wingers to cut in more and track back and forth in a 4,4,2. At forest he is employed as a left sided forward in a front 3 which suits him better. From what I seen of Drenthe in his half hour cameo I think he'll terrorise a lot of defences, just hope his decision making is as good as his trickery. Would perhaps like to eventually see him on one flank and Hope on the other.

Regarding May, I think he'll come good, the Championship is a big leap from the Scottish Premiership and will take a few more games to find his feet but the signs are there that he'll start bagging plenty of goals. SG signed May as he wanted a partner for Nuhiu for his preferred 4,4,2...and that's fine by me, but I wish we had the right personel in CM still that are adaptable to the system, Semedo and Coke are not the answer and Hutch and Lee when they come back will have the same problems, we have 4 CM's that are best adapted to a 3 man system and not a 2 man system. SG apparently still wants a stirker...why??? We have Nuhiu, May, Madine and Lavery (when he's fit again) already, it's a CAM we need to supply them through the middle and at present we don't have that, we could have Falcao and I'll bet he would struggle for gaols if there isn't enough or any service through the middle.

Our big problem is lack of goals.

If you take the Boro match (where we played brilliantly) out, we have scored two goals in five league matches courtesy of a wonder goal from Coke & a free kick from Maguire.

It would take the pressure off May if other players scored a few. Nuhui will never be prolific & pretty much only scores from set pieces because he doesn't get in the box quickly enough. Maguire scores from free kicks & penalties. Maghoma, Hutchinson, Lee, Coke & Semedo don't score many & our defenders rarely score.

While our solid defence means this isn't a major issue, we are on the edge. If we start scoring & keep our defence tight, we move upwards but if the defence slips up & we struggle to score then we drop towards the relegation zone.
