Hull City have signed Luton Town full-back Ryan Giles on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old joined the Hatters from Wolves in the summer and has made 11 appearances in the Premier League.

He could make his debut for the Tigers against Millwall on Saturday.

"He's going to make a huge difference to our team, give us balance and a real attacking threat on the left side of the pitch," boss Liam Rosenior told the club website.

Championship side Hull have the option to buy Giles in the summer as part of the deal.

Hull City winger Jason Lokilo has joined Portuguese side FC Vizela on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 25-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Tigers after signing for the Championship club during the summer from Sparta Rotterdam.

Lokilo's only goal for Hull City came during their FA Cup third-round replay loss against Birmingham City.

FC Vizela are currently second from bottom of Portugal's Primeira Liga, four points away from safety.

Hull City have signed Burnley winger Anass Zaroury on loan until the end of the season and Trabzonspor midfielder Abdulkadir Omur for an undisclosed fee.

Morocco international Zaroury, 23, has made just six Premier League appearances since last season's promotion to the top flight.

Omur, 24, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Tigers.

He scored 25 goals in 211 games for Trabzonspor, winning both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup with the club.

Meanwhile, Hull's Peru midfielder Yuriel Celi, 21, has had his loan spell with Lima-based Club Universitario de Deportes extended for another year.

In other departures, Tigers' Turkey winger Dogukan Sinik has joined Turkish Super Lig side Hatayspor on loan until the end of the season and striker Oscar Estupinan has been recalled form his loan at Metz in order to join Brazilian side Bahia.

Hull City striker Oscar Estupinan has joined Brazilian side Esporte Clube Bahia on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

The 27-year-old Colombia international scored 14 goals in 42 Hull games following his arrival in July 2022.

Estupinan spent the first half of this season on loan to French top-flight side Metz, playing six matches.

He has also played in Turkey, Portugal and his native Colombia.

Hull City left-back Matty Jacob has signed a new three-year deal.

The 22-year-old has made eight appearances for the Tigers since making his debut at Sheffield Wednesday on 1 January.

"I'm delighted for him and for the club. He's so deserving of a long-term contract," boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I love having people like Matty in the building. He's low-maintenance, hard-working and brilliant for our culture."

Rosenior added: "He's got a lot of improving to do but I'm sure with his temperament he'll get to where he wants to be.

"He sums up everything I want in a young professional. He lives, breathes and eats football. He's going to have a very good career."

Greg Docherty is to leave Hull City once his contract expires next month as the club release seven players from their first-team squad.

Midfielder Docherty, 27, has spent four seasons with the Tigers, making 142 appearances, and was an important member of their 2020-21 League One title-winning side.

Former Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp will leave after his move from MLS side LA Galaxy last winter, along with fellow forwards Vaughn Covil and Aaron Connolly who joined permanently last summer and scored 10 goals in 36 appearances.

Mali international midfielder Adama Traoré is also being released after 36 appearances in two injury-hit seasons, as is defender Cyrus Christie and academy graduate goalkeeper David Robson.

Hull sacked head coach Liam Rosenior after missing out on the play-offs last season.

Fabio Carvalho will return to Liverpool and Liam Delap to Manchester City when their loan deals expire on 30 June.

Other loanees set to leave are Ryan Giles, Tyler Morton, Noah Ohio, and Anass Zaroury.

Hull City have sold forward Ozan Tufan to Trabzonspor for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old Turkey international scored 18 goals in 79 league appearances for the Tigers after joining from Fenerbahce in July 2022.

Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and signed former Rangers duo Borna Barisic and John Lundstram earlier this week.

Hull City will start the Championship season under new boss Tim Walter with a home game against Bristol City on Saturday, 10 August.

Hull City have triggered an option to turn Ryan Giles' loan deal from Luton Town into a permanent move.

Giles, 24, joined the Tigers in January and made 17 Championship appearances as they finished one place outside the play-off places.

He has agreed a three-year contract, with the option of an extra year, after joining for an undisclosed fee.

The left-back, who made 11 Premier League appearances for the Hatters in the first half of last season, also has extensive Championship experience from loan spells at Coventry City, Rotherham United, Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough.

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Hull City centre-back Jacob Greaves on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old was named the Tigers' player of the season last term after Hull finished a place outside the Championship play-off spots.

Greaves, whose debut for Hull came in 2020, made 43 league appearances and scored twice as he was named in the EFL Championship team of the season.

"As soon as I heard about the interest, I was keen to get the move over the line. Now that it's done I am really happy," he said.

“I've spoken to [Ipswich manager] Kieran [McKenna] several times and those conversations have made me very excited for the future here. We spoke about tactics, playing style and life off the pitch and every time we've spoken it's been spot on."

Greaves becomes the Tractor Boys' third signing of the summer following the arrivals of forward Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea and defender Ben Johnson from West Ham.

"He is a very talented, technical and athletic left-sided defender who has performed very well in the Championship and is ready to make the step up to the Premier League at this point in his career," added Town boss McKenna.

McKenna, who has guided Ipswich to back-to-back promotions, signed a new deal at the club in June following interest from Chelsea, Brighton and Manchester United.

Ipswich will play in the Premier League this season for the first time in 22 years.

Greaves 'ticks a lot of boxes'

Greaves is a signing that definitely fits the current profile of player Town are looking for and ticks a lot of boxes.

He only turns 24 in September so you would think his best playing days are still to come...yet he already has more than 200 appearances to his name.

It's certainly one to place in the "It'll be interesting to see how much more he can improve under Kieran McKenna" file.

It remains to be seen whether Greaves will be a first choice from the get-go, but either way he'll provide strong competition for last season's regular starters Cameron Burgess and Luke Woolfenden, alongside Axel Tuanzebe.

He can also play at left-back, so does that mean McKenna is less likely to recruit a specialist in that role who can cover for Leif Davis? Again we will wait and see.

It looks increasingly unlikely Jaden Philogene will follow Greaves in making the switch from Humberside to Suffolk, but I think this is a signing Town maybe needed more.

Aston Villa have re-signed England Under-21 winger Jaden Philogene from Hull City less than 12 months after selling him to the Tigers.

He has signed a five-year contract after Villa matched Ipswich Town's £18m offer for the 22-year-old.

Hull will receive about £13.5m of the fee because Villa had a 30% sell-on clause in the agreement that took him to the Tigers last September.

The Tractor Boys looked poised to recruit Philogene but as part of the deal that saw him join Hull, Villa were able to match any offer for the forward.

Villa are also close to signing Everton midfielder Amadou Onana for £50m.

Philogene had been keen to move to Portman Road before Villa's late intervention and he flew back from Hull's training camp in Turkey last Friday before having a medical on Monday.

He had initially been left at home by the Tigers at the start of last week but eventually flew out to briefly join his team-mates.

Villa will play in the Champions League this season after finishing fourth in the 2023-24 Premier League.

Philogene made six appearances - but just one start - for Villa after coming through the club's academy and had loans spells at Stoke City and Cardiff City.

Everton also wanted the winger while Crystal Palace were interested but decided a deal was too expensive.

He scored 12 goals in 32 games for Hull last season as they finished seventh in the Championship.
