Hull City midfielder Regan Slater has signed a new three-year contract.

The 23-year-old made 46 appearances in the 2022-23 season and won the club's players' player and supporters' player of the year awards.

"I'm buzzing. It's great to be rewarded for all the hard work I've put in," he told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I'm looking to kick on and I feel like I've improved every season I've been here and the manager can get the best out of me."

He added: "The aim is to win as many games as we can and hopefully that takes us to where we want to be.

"We need to be ruthless. There were a lot of games last season where we were arguably the better team but we didn't come out on top."

Hull City have signed Manchester City's Liam Delap on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old forward had two loan spells in the Championship last season, with Stoke and Preston, scoring four goals in 38 appearances.

He has scored one goal in six matches for the Manchester City first team.

"I'm absolutely delighted that Liam is coming here, we've fought off a lot of competition from other Championship clubs and clubs around Europe," said Hull head coach Liam Rosenior.

"Liam completely fits into the way we play. He's got outstanding physical attributes and is a great finisher. He's got freak speed, is aggressive and can run in behind, which is one of the areas we wanted to address."

Hull finished 15th in the Championship last season, scoring just 51 goals in their 46 matches.

Hull City have signed Sparta Rotterdam winger Jason Lokilo for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal.

The Belgium-born 24-year-old spent time with Crystal Palace and Doncaster Rovers earlier in his career.

He ended last season on loan with Istanbulspor and scored four goals in 16 Turkish Super Lig appearances.

"He was outstanding for Istanbulspor and is someone with a point to prove in England," Tigers boss Liam Rosenior told the club website.

Hull City have signed defender Ruben Vinagre on a season-long loan from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, with the option of a permanent deal.

The 24-year-old spent last season at Everton but played four matches before an Achilles injury ended his campaign.

Vinagre scored three goals in 70 Wolves games between 2017 and 2020, and played for Monaco, Olympiakos and Famalicao.

"Ruben was my first choice and the club's first choice," Hull boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside.

"It's another left-back in the building, so to get that done, I'm absolutely delighted."

Hull City have signed Burnley midfielder Scott Twine on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old scored 20 goals and made 13 assists for MK Dons in League One in 2021-22 prior to joining the Clarets for a fee reported to be £4m.

However, he played only 14 league games last season, scoring three goals.

"This signing shows the ambition we have and that we want the best players we can get," boss Liam Rosenior told the Hull website.

Twine could feature for the Tigers in Saturday's trip to Blackburn Rovers.

Hull City have signed goalkeeper Ryan Allsop from fellow Championship side Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old joins on a two-year deal, with the option of a further year, having made 44 appearances for Cardiff after joining last summer.

Allsop previously worked with Hull boss Liam Rosenior at Derby County.

"I'm absolutely delighted Ryan has joined us and he's going to add a lot of competition and quality to our goalkeeping department," Rosenior said.

"I've worked with him before and I know his potential and ability. He's brave and fantastic with his feet - one of the best, if not the best, in the league in terms of his distribution.

"He makes important saves, has played in every league - Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two - and is a good character, leader and talker."

Allsop has previously had spells with Leyton Orient, Bournemouth, Coventry, Wycombe, Portsmouth, Blackpool and Lincoln.

Last season he kept 12 clean sheets for the Bluebirds, but had lost his place to Jak Alnwick at the start of the current campaign.

Hull City have signed Brighton full-back James Furlong and Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene for undisclosed fees and Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton on a season-long loan.

Furlong, 21, who, along with Philogene has signed a three-year deal, made one appearance for Brighton.

Philogene, also 21, has had previous loan spells in the Championship with Stoke and Cardiff.

Morton, 20, made 46 appearances during a loan with Blackburn last season.

The Tigers have also signed Fenerbahce forward Bora Aydinlik, 18, on a season-long loan and he is set to join up with the club's academy side.

RE: Hull news - themaclad - 18-12-2023

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior has signed a new three-year contract to extend his time at the MKM Stadium.

He was appointed in November 2022 on a two-and-a-half-year deal and took the Tigers from 21st in the Championship to a 15th-placed finish last season.

He has only lost 14 of his 52 games and Saturday's win over Cardiff moved Hull into the Championship play-off spots.

"We have to make sure this is the start of the journey and, hopefully, a successful one," said Rosenior.

He spent five years with Hull as a player and said committing his future to the club was "never in doubt".

"I'm delighted. There's no place I'd rather be," said Rosenior.

"Everything we're doing, everything we work towards, is completely aligned and that's why a lot of progress has been made.

"I'm so proud to represent this club as manager and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the next few years hold for us. Hopefully, we can create a lot of really good memories."

Rosenior made 144 league appearances in his time as a Tigers player and was part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2013 and reached the FA Cup final the following year.

He left for Brighton after Steve Bruce's side were relegated from the Premier League in 2015 and retired from playing in 2018, a year after helping the Seagulls reach the top flight.

He joined Derby as a coach under Phillip Cocu in July 2019 before stepping up to become Wayne Rooney's assistant in January 2021 and had a spell in interim charge of the Rams before the appointment of current boss Paul Warne.

Former Sheffield United and LA Galaxy striker Billy Sharp will join Championship side Hull City on 1 January 2024, on a deal until the end of the season.

The 37-year-old has scored 255 goals in 642 league appearances during a career which also took in a stint with Scunthorpe United.

Sharp scored six goals in 12 games for his last club, MLS team LA Galaxy.

"It's the ultimate no-brainer," Hull boss Liam Rosenior said.

"We've got an exciting, young, attacking group of players but what I found in my experience of promotion, and Billy has five, is that when you get to April and May, you need people who have been there, seen it and done it."

The announcement confirmed BBC Radio Humberside's report that Sharp was the unnamed player owner Acun Ilicali said Hull had struck a deal for earlier this week.

Sharp led boyhood team Sheffield United to promotion to the Premier League on two occasions, as well as into the Championship. His goals as a youngster steered Scunthorpe into the Championship, while he helped Southampton into the top tier.

Hull are sixth in the Championship, three points clear of seventh-placed Sunderland.

"Wherever Billy has been, he's scored goals - and at crucial moments in games," Rosenior added.

"To bring in someone of his quality and experience is of huge benefit to the club."

Championship side Hull City have signed Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old Portuguese spent the first half of the season on loan at RB Leipzig but only started one league game for the Bundesliga side.

Carvalho started his career with Fulham and scored 11 goals in 40 league appearances before joining Liverpool for £5m in July 2022.

He could make his Tigers debut in Friday's home game against Norwich.

"There's certain players who understand the game differently in a number 10 position. Allied to his pace, athleticism, his bravery to take the ball and finish actions are the reasons Liverpool signed him," Hull boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside.

"He's really excited and he's looking forward to the challenge. He's ready to go on Friday, so there's a possibility he starts."

Rosenior also confirmed the club are close to signing goalkeeper Ivor Pandur from Fortuna Sittard.

The 23-year-old Croatian has made 16 appearances in the Dutch top flight this season.
