Whow.... he may prove to be a great bit of business, judging by the quality of a lot of those goals!

I guess if he has a good work ethic thats what VI will be looking for. Only time will tell but lets hope for the best

Surprising to me.... class player, still only 29....odd that he's had no offers, even presumably on a "pay by appearance" level

I still think for me, Hugill is going to need to prove himself, I was not overly impressed by the 15 goal season when on loan at QPR, I certainly did not see any goals which would have considered for goal of the week, let alone goal of the month or season.
If we look at his history, what I see does make me scratch my head, even though that is not hard. If we just look at the last 3-4 years, the Sham signed him in Jan 18 for £8 million. During all his time at the Sham, he only made 3 appearances for them, all off the bench, not scoring at all. In August 18 he was loaned out to Middlesbrough, between August 18 and May 19 he made 20 starts and 17 appearances from the bench (starting to see 'Bench' a fair bit) scoring 6 across the whole 37 games. Needless to say Middlesbrough did not put an offer in for him. The Sham then loaned him out for the one decent (ish) season of his whole career at QPR, again QPR did not go after him, even though he scored 13 from 39 in the league. He was returned to the Sham who then just a year ago sold him on to Norwich, where he has started just 7 games, but has made 24 appearances from the bench scoring just 4 from the whole 31 games league games. It strikes me this is a player who knows what to say, remember this video was just last August. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SIDnLPiozg I will definitely give this guy a chance to show what he can do, but I just hope we have not wasted the opportunity to bring in a striker who may have been better suited. In reality perhaps this is one of those situations where the club have thought, we need a striker who might do ok in the championship, but may not be good enough for the Premier League, so we can bring him in on loan, hope we get promoted then send him back.

He should be ideal for us.
Pay as you play deal. NO TRANSFER FEE, get the fax machine switched on. Why wouldn't you ? Shocking if he retires because nobody wants him.

I assume you are talking Jack Wilshere, if no one is coming in for him there is a reason, his talent some years ago was undeniable and everyone knows that, so the fact that only league one Wigan have made any advance means to me, there has to be a reason.

Wilshire although a very good player on his day would never have the energy or pace to do what VI wants the players to do.

Mateo Cassiera, who we were linked with, has gone to Sochi in Russia.
Tom Trybull has left Norwich City on a free. I think we should take a look at him because we could do with a defensive midfield player and he is a good player at this level.

W.T.F. Where has all the money gone??
Boss Valerien Ismael admits Albion’s hopes of further signings before Tuesday’s transfer deadline rests on moving players out. Asked about the chance of signing more players before the window closes, Ismael replied: “I think at the minute we are satisfied with the last signing. “I think only if something happens in the outgoings, then we can do something in the incomings.” (Express & Dingle Website) Our out goings were 16 in number: Pereira, Harper, Hegazy, Gibbs, Grosicki, Edwards, Austin, Peltier, Field, Lonergan, Sawyers, Robson-Kanu, Clarke, Ivanovic, Diagne and Yokuslu. Our incomings are 4 or 5: Reach, Mowatt, Clarke, Hugill and is there one other? I can't remember So why do we need to move people out before bringing anyone else in? Answers on a postcode to: |
