More poss "money in the coffers" for Ron Gordon eh! Whistle We'll see what "he's made of" after all the previous positive "noises" re the Hibs renaissance etc!

First potential bit of business - French Ligue one club has submitted a bid for Youan believed to be around the 2 million mark. Considering he hasn't played in the last few games that suggests Malky's first job when he starts on Monday will be to rubber stamp this transfer.

Talk of Josh Doig going to Roma which we may get a cut of the fee as well.

No news on the managerial front yet, but a lot of rumours going around that SDG will be getting the job with a new coaching set up.

Seems SDG is in line to be Hibs' new manager, if the details can be agreed amicably. It's all a matter of principle.

And it's likely that we won't be able to afford to sign Marcondes on a permanent contract, but we can only hope Black Knight can arrange something.

Looks like SDG is about to be announced as our new manager maybe even later today.

Good luck to him. Hes gonna need it. I just wonder about this logic of giving people their first managerial job at a top flight club. The guys a legend and i don't want to see that tarnished in any way. Hopefully Malky can support him next season as there were signs at least that the players respected him in a way they clearly didn't NM.

Would really like to keep Marcondes and Myziane at the club, their quality really shone through in places last season but i doubt that will be possible.

Spot on, Jim. SDG has been announced as the new manager on a 3-year contract.

I'm certain he'll be under a lot of scrutiny, but you make a good point about the relationship with the players. Let's give him a chance to turn things around, i.e. more than a full season.

More of a sideways/upstairs move really, as David Marshall has retired from playing football, but has been appointed Technical Performance Director.

A bit of everything in here, but mostly contracted players, taken from the Hibs FC website. I'd like to see about 10 of the contracted players gone (my car would be available, if required) with 7 or 8 better newbies coming in, plus the usual gaggle of loanees, especially the 3 Ms. Not that I'm asking for much!

First Team Summary

Retiring

David Marshall

Released

Paul Hanlon, Lewis Stevenson, Adam Le Fondre.

Returns to parent club at end of loan

Will Fish, Eliezer Mayenda, Myziane Maolida, Emiliano Marcondes, Nectarios Triantis.

First Team players under contract in 2024/25

Jojo Wollacott, Murray Johnson, Lewis Miller, Chris Cadden, Jordan Obita, Rocky Bushiri, Dylan Levitt, Jake Doyle-Hayes, Joe Newell, Luke Amos, Jair Tavares, Nathan Moriah-Welsh, Josh Campbell, Elie Youan, Dylan Vente, Martin Boyle, Ewan Henderson, Harry McKirdy, Nohan Kenneh, Max Boruc, Riley Harbottle, Dan MacKay, Allan Delferrière, Kanayo Megwa, Rory Whittaker.

Thats a lot of contracted players still at the club many of which, from what I have seen, are fairly average or worse!

Hibs will have to look at getting that wage bill down by loans etc as I cannot see too many being chased by other clubs willing to pay a fee for them.

David Gray et al certainly have a task on their hands.......will the fans give them / him time??
