Would be a signal of intent if we got Rondon to sign a new deal and scrapped the clause. I think he'd be good for 20 goals in the Championship most definitely. But can't help thinking Newcastle will meet the clause last minute.

He’s played 13 matches in two seasons. Two loans away from Atletico last season at Braga and Belenenses and only 11 League matches played in. He’s talented for sure but in my opinion a big drop down from our Sam Johnstone.

This is odd, what could that have been for Albion to tell him he was taking the piss? He would have been relatively cheap to buy and one for the future. But, as with most footballers, his over inflated feeling of self worth probably had him thinking he could milk the club. I might be totally wrong but it looks like another young, greedy footballer wanting rewards before achieving anything - remind you of anyone - Saddo Byriani?
