Disappointed about Yak he would have thrived in the Chump and imo would have been a top player at that level as it would have suited his game so well. Boaz, have to be careful as he is local to me, but at his age you have to be playing regularly to keep your edge. What can I say about GMac, a club legend, but all good things come to an end, I suspect his stamina might have been shown up a touch now and has to much respect at the club to keep him to make the numbers up and getting the odd 5 or 10 minutes here and there. Shame we do not have a position for a defensive coach.

To all 3, I wish every success wherever they end up, Thank you for your service to our great club.

That's right, and letting both Eygyptians go as well won't help. They must have some fiendish plan or another to replace them all. We will see  Huh

BOTH Egyptians?? Thought Hegazi was one of us?

So apparently Notts Forest are the new Wolves this year,
They have made four signings three of them from Portugal all young and now have signed a 21 year old from Monaco
Mmmmmm ?

Signing #4 of the summer for #nffc is close. Gil Bastiao Dias, 21, is set to sign on loan for the season (with option to buy) from Monaco. Understand the winger is having a medical later today and an announcement is likely in the next 48 hours

Gil Dias is good but still very raw. He was on loan at Fiorentina last season and was very hit and miss. I watched a lot of Fiorentina’s games last season including when I was in Florence and he really lacks inconsistency. He can look superb running with the ball with his long legs and long strides and then when he gets to the box he’ll take a poor touch and it’ll run out of play or he’ll cross and hit the first man or over hit the last man. It’s really 5 times out of ten that he’ll get the final decision right and provide the quality required.

We’ll be better off with Jeremain Lens.

Gil Dias scored 2 in 29 and is nowhere near the finished article.

Jeremain Lens scored 1 in 24 and is the finished article.

Having seen both play, I’d take experienced Lens over raw Dias all the time.

So 1 in 24 is the finished article Confused
I bow my head to your superior knowledge on foreign football Josh, however I hope we could do better than that he was no great shakes at Sunderland either !

Well as I put earlier in the thread, Sunderland never used him properly because of the over reliance on the wingers doing their defensive duty first and then attacking second and his loan moves to Fenerbahce (4 goals in 26) and Besiktas seem to have restarted his career. Both teams play forward thinking football and wingers generally excel better in that sort of style.

I personally don’t like to judge a winger solely by their goals though. Their overall play and final delivery is much more important than their goal record and Lens seems to have got it back on track in Turkey.

Matt Phillips for example has scored 2 in 30 and 4 in 27 in his past two league seasons yet during those two seasons, his wing play and final delivery was generally good so the goal record isn’t so important.
