It looks as if Aaron Ramsdale is about to complete a move to Arsenal for £24 million (initial fee) with a further £6 million in add-ons. Just goes to show what an insulting offer the £6 million bid for Johnstone from 'The Sham' actually was, sadly for Johnston the Ramsdale move ('when' it happens), probably also comes with the England number 2 jersey. There is perhaps a bit of good news though, I would not be surprised to see Johnston sign a new contract with us in the days following Ramsdale signing for Arsenal, what other better goalkeeping opportunities are there?.

.... IF (BIG "IF"!) we carry on as we are and get promoted, Johnston would be back where he wants to be.... New contract on the cards?

I think you’ll find Arsenal spoke to Sam’s agent and asked if he would want to go as competition for Lena who is first choice, the answer would be no.
Johnstone is 4 years Ramsdale’s senior and England 2 nd choice why would he go as back up. Loves it at the Albion and would only leave as 1st choice.
I think he will sign a new contract with a decent release clause if we don’t go up.
There is absolutely no way that Ramsdale is better than Johnstone.

Explain why he was left out last night.
You have to say Johnstone value is £20 million IMO. I would rather we keep him. And a release clause of £20 million with a new 4 year contract.
He is as good as any of the current crop of England goalkeepers.
Good news for us whatever happens Big Grin

Percy has said that Sawyers is signing for Stoke tomorrow on a season long loan. Wish him well.
I think we will bring in 3 to 4 new signings before the deadline closes.

I wish him well if he goes, but alas Val up and at em style is not a Sawyer's attribute.
I've seen that mentioned in several places he's off to Stoke. Fingers crossed we bring in a few new faces. Towards the end of the window PL teams decide who they are prepared to loan out. I assume we will pick up a couple of loans. I would like us to capture a couple of permanent signings before then. IMO we need 3
If Sawyer's goes 4
1. Okay is still available (I would snap him up)
2. A striker
3. A wing back

Now that Watford have signed Tucan, do we think Albion may go back in for Yokuslu?

I think we would take him on a further season loan, but don't want to splash the cash on him.

Mateo Cassierra could be in his way if this is to be believed - https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2021/08/23/it...west-brom/

Andy Carroll - On a Play and Pay basis he has got to be better than Zohore but please God, don't let that be the only addition in the striker department
