BEST 11?

It depends how you look at it.

our best POTENTIALLY would have Varela in no doubt (arguably Ideye)

However, from "What you have seen" I couldn't put Gamboa in, or Varela. Both have played less than a game in total probably. Wisdom has been pretty solid most of the time, and chipped in with an assist or 2, so it would be harsh to swap him for someone who at the moment just seems really fast.

I would probably go:

---------------------------------- Foster -----------------------------------

-- Wisdom -------- Dawson -------------- Lescott ------ Poco ----------

-----------------------Dorrans ----- Gardner -------------------------------

-------Brunt ------------------ Sessegnon ------------------- Morrison ---

---------------------------- Berahino -----------------------------------------

I really don't want to put in Brunt, I want to put in Varela, or Samaras, or Blanco or Even Anichebe, and go 4-4-2. Leaving out Mulumbu is tough too, but I had to accomodate Dorrans on what I have seen so far.

A shame that we have signed 11 players, and only 4 have broken into our first team (and 2 of them HAD to, as we hadn't got a recognised left back or right back)

Our squad depth is great though, with players like, Varela / Blanco / Ideye / Gamboa hopefully getting up to speed, linking up with the team more and chomping on the bit to play, we could have the strongest bench we have had at least in my lifetime.

At the moment our best starting 11 is the one that is currently bringing us these good results. It may not contain Ideye, Varela, Blanco, Mulumbu and Gamboa but it is getting results and currently has us where we are in the table.

On paper, my choice of best 11 would not contain 4 or 5 of the current starting 11. However, it is only based on the quality that I know Varela, Ideye, Blanco and Gamboa will bring to the team rather than whether they fit in, settle here and play well, which is yet to really be seen.

At the moment, I am happy for AI to continue with the current starting 11 as it is working and doing nothing wrong. When things do stop working, which will happen, AI will then have to change things. This is when we will see the proper introduction of Blanco, Gamboa, Ideye and Varela.

Am I missing something?
Everyone has Sessegnon in their starting line-up but, in my 'umble opinion,he doesn't contribute enough over 90 mins.
Yes, he has flashes of brilliance but is too often missing for half the game, is so easily muscled off the ball and too often try's to dribble his way past four or five opposition players virtually always losing possession. Sess in the January sales for me along with Sicknote, Olsson, Davidson and perhaps a few more.

Again BaggieMan, I refer you to the fact that we have not won a single game that Sessegnon hasn't started since he signed.

Yes he may go missing in games, yes he may take on too many players, yes he may make poor decisions, but he is the only flair player in our current starting line-up. Every midtable Premier League team has had one of them over the years: Ben Arfa, Taarabt, N'Zogbia, Odemwingie, Downing, Ruiz, Berbatov, Adam Johnson, I could go on... All of these players have frustrated the hell out of their fans, but they are match-winners, they can produce something out of nothing. Sessegnon fits right in to that category. If the above players played consistently at their best then they wouldn't be at the likes of West Brom/West Ham/Sunderland/Fulham/Stoke/Newcastle, they would be at Europe's elite.

If you would rather we replaced Sessegnon with another consistent 6.5/10 like Morrison or Dorrans then that's fine, but I'm sure it would lead to us sliding down the table.
