Isaac Olaofe has signed a new three-year contract with Stockport County.

The 24-year-old, nicknamed "Tanto", was the Hatters' top league goalscorer with 20 in 43 games as the club won the League Two title, and the new deal includes an option for an extra year.

Olaofe was signed from Millwall for an undisclosed fee last year and has become an integral part of Dave Challinor's squad.

His final goal of the season sealed the win against Morecambe at Edgeley Park which secured promotion.

Challinor told the club website, external: "We’ve openly spoken this summer about investing in ‘younger’ players that have potential to improve and become real assets for the football club. This signing shows that those players may already be in our building.

“Having scoured the market in terms of recruitment, we know what players are and aren’t out there. To have a player with Tanto’s pace and power with the ability to get better, bearing in mind he scored 20 goals last season, is really exciting and really difficult to replace."

Stockport County have signed midfielder Lewis Fiorini from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee.

“Technically he is fantastic, and he will undoubtedly be a huge addition to our squad.

"For a young player to have the experience he has in the Championship, League One, international football and in another country is rare, and we feel he can have a real impact over the next few years.”

Stockport County striker Kyle Wootton has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The 27-year-old has scored 27 goals in 88 appearances for the Hatters, and was a key player as they won the League Two title last season.

After turning down a new contract at Notts County in 2022, Wootton joined Stockport and was leading scorer, as well as the club's player of the year, in his debut season.

Stockport manager Dave Challinor told the club website, external: "He’s a huge asset to our squad in terms of what he adds on and off the pitch. He’s been a model pro in his time with us, and has acted and performed consistently across that period.

“He’s started the season really well which hasn’t been a surprise because internally we know what he brings. An extension to his contract was a conversation started in the off-season about the club protecting assets and we certainly see him as one of those."

Football director Simon Wilson added: “Kyle has started the season very well, but this isn’t a reaction to that. It’s a conversation the staff have been having for a while about the attributes Kyle brings and how they are valued at this club."

Stockport County have signed former Sheffield United midfielder Oliver Norwood on a free transfer.
