Jan 03: WBA 2018/19 Transfer Window
As interesting as the potential signings of Montero and Murphy are, do we feel either of these will compensate for the continued presence of Robson-Kanu? I get that we would want to sign a "winger" to replace Barnes but why sign two when we have a desperate need for a third striker thus allowing HRK to be relieved of his current duties of stepping onto a football pitch?

Kanu has played most of his football this season as a wide striker, so I'd assume he would fall behind both in the pecking order and only play in the event that both Gayle and Rodriguez were both missing. Touch wood this doesn't happen...

According to Sky, Murphy is now undergoing a medical. I am wondering whether Montero will only happen if the Murphy deal fails.

Stefan Johansen from Fulham could be happening as well...his record in the Championship looks pretty good.

Could I actually be happy at the end of a transfer window??

Sounds like a few pretty promising irons in the fire right now, most of them positive, attractive players too.

Another here - good player again but slightly tenuous link... Bojan from Sjoke https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/01/31/re...ch-albion/

New Stoke manager now saying Bojan will get a chance with them before the end of the season.
So obviously on his way Big Grin

I’m not overly keen on Montero but that’s because he’s barely played this season for Swansea. He was very promising a couple of seasons ago so maybe Darren can get the best out of him.

Murphy and Johansen I’ll be happy with.

Bloody good midfield we’ll have if these three sign:

DM - Barry

RCM - Livermore, Harper
LCM - Johansen, Field

RM - Phillips, Leko
LM - Murphy, Montero

AM - Morrison, Hoolahan
