Look at the fuss made about Andy Murray choosing a female coach and I'd say the tennis world is more enlightened than the football one!

I don't understand why there was a massive fuss about that because his mum coached him for a number of years.

Exactly, Matt! Sensationalist media is partly to blame.
Not all men are sexist but all men can stop sexism. CALL IT OUT!

Partly to blame?? They are completely to blame!!!!!! Its a non-story other than a paragraph to say who he appointed!! Its typical media hype where they tell us what we should think and create situations where they tell us we should be offended on behalf of others!!!

Tap into the Asian market by appointing an Oriental Dr Who, seriously why not?

I have No problems with a female, Black or whatever Dr Who my main problem is the scripts are just utter pants Capaldi has been wasted and more or less just watched it for the ultra cute Jenna Coleman
Billie Piper as the first Female Doctor Who it makes sense

So its finally happened a female Doctor Who and I believe it can work with Jodie Whittaker as she's a brilliant actress and was great in Broadchurch and Black Mirror. Also the Broadchurch script writers will be taking over from Moffat so win win.

I am not a great fan if Dr Who but, like so many, remember watching it from behind the sofa when I was a kid. But huge respect to them from making this move.

We should not be surprised or be heralding it as a big brave step. But it is, and it's a good thing. Jodie Whittaker will be a brilliant Dr and it might tempt more to watch it than the few they lose through narrow mindedness
