Has anybody read this book by A G McDonell. It's a bit if a classic but it has a beautiful chapter about playing for a City cricket xi away in a village. If you are a fan of cricket it's a must read.

It's really all about that one chapter - best to sneak a read in the library or stand a while in Waterstones.
