  INS & OUTS
Posted by: struth - 02-09-2014, 23:31 - Forum: Manchester United - Replies (6)

With all the transfer changes finished it may be a good idea to outline them.

IN>
Daley Blind Ajax £14.0m
Ander Herrera Athletic Bilbao £29.0m
Angel di Maria Real Madrid £59.7m
Marcos Rojo Sporting Lisbon £16.0m
Luke Shaw Southampton £27.0m

OUT>
Jack Barmby Leicester City Free
Bebe Benfica £2.4m
Alexander Buttner Dynamo Moscow Undisclosed
Sam Byrne Everton Free
Charni Ekangamene Zulte-Waregem Undisclosed
Patrice Evra Juventus £1.2m
Rio Ferdinand Queens Park Rangers Free
Ryan Giggs Unassigned Players Retired
Angelo Henriquez Dinamo Zagreb Loan
Javier Hernandez Real Madrid Loan
Federico Macheda Cardiff City Free
Nani Sporting Lisbon Loan
Nemanja Vidic Inter Milan Free
Danny Welbeck Arsenal £16.0m
Wilfried Zaha Crystal Palace Loan

So, about £140 mil spent, ut the defence has not received much work, and could be the main reason I feel that Utd will struggle again. LVG certainly has his work cut out. Rolleyes

Radamel Falcao's year long loan will cost Utd a fee of £6m in the deal from Monaco.

Falcao's move, meanwhile, includes an option for United to buy him for £43.5m at the end of the loan spell.

The player will earn approximately £265,000-a-week, while it is not thought Monaco are paying part of his wages.

The striker told his new club's website: "Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and is clearly determined to get back to the top.

"I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal and contributing to the team's success at this very exciting period in the club's history."

  E Fife game postponed.
Posted by: struth - 02-09-2014, 23:06 - Forum: Rangers - Replies (63)

Rangers Manager Ally McCoist has involked SPFL rules to get the Petrofac Training Cup quarter-final against E Fife to be postponed due to international call-ups.

Lewis Macleod, Bilel Mohsni and Dean Shiels are likely to be on International duty.

Not sure it is a good idea tbh as Gers have hit a bit of form and a longish layoff may well put us back to the drivel we were playing eirlier in season.

This has been a quick to market activity and so although the boards are all there for you to start discussion.  I appreciate that on other forums there might be features not yet available on here and also that you might have ideas on what more could be added e.g. a prediction league? If you have constructive ideas please add them to this thread.

In the meantime:

  7 Young players loaned out
Posted by: struth - 02-09-2014, 22:56 - Forum: Rangers - Replies (6)

Rangers loaned out seven fringe players until the turn of the year, most of them with first-team experience.
Robbie Crawford joined Morton on a four-month loan, while Calum Gallagher moved to Cowdenbeath until January.
Other deals included defender Luca Gasparotto going to Airdrie and striker Danny Stoney to Stranraer.
Tom Walsh makes the switch to Stenhousemuir, while Craig Halkett Barrie McKay go to Clyde and Raith Rovers respectively.

It is a bit of a shame as these guys should really be playing a part in this years matches. Many have the expierience to do this but as is the trend at Ibrox, Ally has little time for young layers, preferring older players. This does nothing to help the club either financially r in its attempts to be self sufficient in players.
If they cannot get a game in the Championship, what chance in the Prem, if and when they get there. Huh

  New manager
Posted by: Amelia Chaffinch - 02-09-2014, 20:41 - Forum: Huddersfield Town - Replies (28)

According to local radio, Chris Powell is once again the favourite for the job. Surely we will have a decision by the time we are back from the international break?

Billy Davies, Chris Hughton, and Owen Coyle are definitely out of the running.

Shocked WBA Transfer Window: (Summer 2015) Starting early..
Posted by: Stairs - 02-09-2014, 19:59 - Forum: West Bromwich Albion - Replies (945)

 Latest:
If you thought last summer there was mass change, then this summer could be even more spectacular.

We have players out of contract, players out of favour with the new manager and a possible new owner  (American or Far East) who will or will not boost the transfer budget.

Lets hope things happen quicker this summer and we don't do the last minute panic buying that we saw last year!

When does it Open? The 2015 Summer Transfer Window opens Wednesday, July 1. Clubs might announce signings in June, but player registrations can't be transferred until July 1.
When does it Close? The deadline is 11pm Monday 31st August 31 for paperwork to have been submitted to the Premier League and so it is possible for announcements to happen much later than that e.g. Man Utd and Falcao was announced at 1.30am

Rumours so far:

- The first starts at midnight on last day of the closing season and ends 31 August if a working day - or, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.
- The second starts at midnight on the 31 December and ends 31 January if a working day, and again, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.
- Temporary transfers can be made permanent outside of the transfer windows
