Jim Duffy is apparently talking to McCoist about allowing Crawford to play for them in the PT Cup. His loan agreement stipulates that he can't play in cup games but Duffy is hopeful Ally will allow it for this competition. Slightly risky for us as it would leave him cup-tied should we make it to the final, and it's possible that we'll have more important matches at that time so Crawford might actually be in contention for a place. But that's all quite speculative and I'm happy to see him get as many games under his belt as possible. It would also be good if Morton progress and he gets a game or 2 against Championship opposition. Hope Ally gives him the chance.

I think that happened to us before. Bajram Fetai on loan at ICT maybe? We forgot or didn't think it was with bothering about including the restriction on the loan terms and he ended up almost scoring against us in a 1 all league draw at Ibrox.

I'm opposed to the whole loan culture that pervades football in general these days. I think it should be reserved for young guys to help them get experience, but things like Fernando Torres going out to Milan on a 2 year loan or Falcao to United seem like the antithesis of the football transfer system I've known for so long.

Aye agreed, Falcao's £6M loan fee - for one season - is a joke.

Crawford's been given the go-ahead to play the cup match, which is a win-win as far as I'm concerned.

Glad Crawford has been given the green light to play in the cup. Hopefully he comes back a stronger player for it,
Or failing that gets a decent move if deemed surplus to requirement.

Oh well, Crawford played the full match in the end but Morton lost 1-0 to Alloa. Seems like they played him behind the front 2, so an interesting use of the player.
