Announced today, new contract to 2017 with Town having the option for another year.
His previous contract was only signed in June (less than 6 months ago) so I'm guessing he's probably got a nice pay rise as a result of his performances this season.
Other players out of contract at the end of this season:
Paul Dixon
Anthony Gerrard
Sean Scannell
Danny Ward
Jon Stead
Duane Holmes
Jordan Sinnott
Matty Crooks??? (not sure)
Martin Paterson
Jake Carroll
Danny Carr
Oscar Gobern
and lots of the youngsters, although I'm not sure about most of the 1st year pro's. Billing, Allinson, Tronstad, Charles, Coogans and Coughlan all definitely have longer contracts.
N.B. For quite a few of these players, the club has an option of an extra year - for Danny Ward, this has already been invoked; he is already in his extra year.

Scannell is working his way to a new contract but the rest on that list have some fingers to pull out to earn a new deal

I'd like us to keep Scannell, Dixon and possibly Ward (not sure how much money he's on, though - might be too much.) I'm not really sure about any of the rest.

Ward hasn't had much playing time yet under Powell, but like everyone else seems a bit livelier than he did under Robins when he comes on. He'll get his chance. If Scannell was ill why did Powell play him or play him for so long at Derby?

Paul Dixon- I still don't mind Dixon, yes he's a bit suspect at defending but he's ok going forward. Still not sure if Robinson is any better.
Anthony Gerrard- gone off the radar...is he injured? Probably go in January to release wages for new signings
Sean Scannell- offer a new contract, it's like having a new player. Always knew he had the talent
Danny Ward- probably get offloaded if we can wheel and deal in January
Jon Stead- not a chance he'll get a new contract...if he does then I want one
Duane Holmes- loads of talent, not living up to his potential. Would have to upset the club massively not to get a extension of at least 12 months
Jordan Sinnott- decent at Free kicks, not a winger, neither a right back. We seem to be trying to find his best position. Probably 12months to prove himself
Matty Crooks??? (not sure)- this season is last chance saloon I'd have thought
Martin Paterson- now Clayton has departed surely he'll be back in the fold, some hard bargaining to be done on a new contract
Jake Carroll- has to prove himself out on loan, my thinking he'll be sold in January
Danny Carr- has absolutely no future at Town IMO
Oscar Gobern- another going,going...gone!

based on his recent Twitter comments, I suspect Gerrard will not last the next transfer window.

Which is probably right; sure he could get a loan deal somewhere; hell, Tranmere could do with him, for certain.
Et in Arcadia Ego.
