Leicester striker Ahmed Musa has joined Russian side CSKA Moscow on loan until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old Nigeria international was signed by the Foxes from CSKA on a four-year deal for a then club record of about £16m in July 2016.

However, he has struggled to make an impact at Leicester, scoring five goals in 33 matches.

Not a bad return given they played him as a winger, certainly was easy to figure out early on that wasn't his position, despite his lightning pace he couldn't cross to save his life yet was still played there week in week out-the fans knew, the manager apparently didn't

Certainly wouldn't be a bad player in a forward position with counter attacking promise like the LCFC team who won the league and an option if Vardy were injured

However LCFC`s idea of building on a title winning season was to buy loads of Strikers in a department that wasn't a problem moving forward, hence now Musa and Ulloa on loan and Lawrence moved on

I don't think Leicester thought they would keep hold of Vardy and Mahrez so probably panicked and bought a few guys to provide cover. In the end both of them are still there and therefore these players are surplus to requirements!!

Leicester City’s former record signing Ahmed Musa has left the club, joining Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr on a permanent deal.

The Nigerian signed for City from CSKA Moscow in 2016 for a then-record £16m, but after two years, 33 appearances and just five goals, he’s signed a four-year contract with Al Nassr. The transfer fee is likely to be significantly below the £40m reported when Al Nassr's interest first emerged.
