Bit of a surprise Surrey player retires from cricket at the age of 25 made his England debut this winter against India, apparently he is more intelligent than Michael Atherton.

Odd decision.

Seems peculiar on the surface, but clearly his true ambitions lie elsewhere, and it's a case of now-or-never for pursuing them. Best of luck to him, and hopefully some talented youngster will seize the opportunity this creates.

He was selected for the Pakistan tour when his form warranted it but missed out ultimately through injury.

He was then selected for the india and Bangladesh tour when his form with bat or ball didn't warrant a call up. When he did play he didn't look ready at that time and the batters who loved spin bowling took to him, like they did batty and all of them tbf.

Cant help but think he was another player that can be added to a fairly long list of players failed by a flawed selection process

Reading between the lines did not overly enjoy the tour in the winter and basically has lost his appetite for the game, it happens best of luck to him in his new chosen career of the law.
