Bring on the Munchengladbach?

It looks like a 'big week' for the Hoops and poss 'crunch time' for the 3rd place spot in their Champions League quali group. Mind you, many Celtic fans prob regard the next game/LC semi-final v Rangers as the more important one in terms of 'getting a positive result'. Rodgers must be realistically looking at two wins esp with Celtic playing reasonably well at the moment. This Bundisligue side has suddenly improved in the past few weeks but never underestimate any top four German side anywayeven though they are currently in 9th place! So I think it will be a tougher match than initially perceived by many footie 'experts' in Scotland. I think the result will be a 'stick on draw' although Celtic may just 'sneak it' by the odd goal!

Think if they can win the morn they have a chance of europa league footie after Dec.

They are better than sevco pretty much in every position, as we've seen and i expect them to win at hampden depending how they "come out" of the game at parkheid....and not accounting for craig thomsons reffing performance either.

The German club has about four injuries to key players. So Celtic will be strong favourites to win this match.

The only reason I'd tend to concur with this sentiment is because of the 'money factor' - the huge amount of money that is pulled in by only one Scottish footie club and it's all ultimately down to ploughing in millions of quid to invest in decent players and a solid manager who can 'get the best' out of these players - effectively a 'monopoly situation' which is never healthy (just ask the M&MC why that is!) in any footie league and we certainly have that prob here! Sadly, there is no easy solution apart from the bigger clubs in Scotland trying to maximise their fan base and utilising their additional revenue intake to at least challenge more positively. However, even that level of commitment will produce limited success anyway! The problem will never disappear in Scotland any time soon as we can all see that 'money makes money' and the higher the amount, the more likely that 'conveyor belt success' is guaranteed but to the detriment of all other footie clubs and fans in Scotland - one of the main reasons why current and new generations of kids in Scotland have no great respect for the game up here and they look for a similar but more inspiring interest at a higher level elsewhere!

The only way it becomes a level playing field is if Celtic leave the league but that's no going to happen

Rangers are the only club that could potentially challenge Celtic for a sustained period, but Celtic are currently years ahead of them as well, and with their track record there are no guarantees they can use their revenue wisely enough to challenge. Getting rid of Celtic from Scottish football would damage the game wouldn't it?? Also, that would leave it open for Rangers to be the dominant force instead.

Celtic 2-0 down and apparently been under the kosh for large parts of the game. Poor result for them and this will make it very, very difficult to get that 3rd spot!! BM might be eyeing that 2nd spot unless Citeh can find some form!!

The BM manager definitely 'did his homework' on Celtic and remember this was a weakened Munchengladbach side as well. Stindl the MOTM by a country mile and Celtic beaten by a better team that played a hi line and basically played them man for man on occasions, stopped Celtic playing and quietened the home crowd with slick interchanging passing movements in the attacking third of the pitch - too good for Celtic to handle!

Rangers were the dominant force via tax evasion, cheating and an unhealthy affiliation with the national association (hiya Campbell) I xxxx loathe them and the old firm cartel. Celtic have at least brought some pride to the Scottish game, but rangers are utter vermin and the joy in their liquidation from the rest of Scottish fitba was real and heartfelt for a reason.

We care not a jot about their 'challenge'.

BM were very good and deserved to win. I was very impressed with them last night. I don't think celtic were that bad as such,BM just were better.

Citeh on the other hand were garbage and took a pummelling at the nou camp despite their huge spending.
