Bring on the Barca?

It's interesting to listen to all the upbeat media comments re a visit to the Camp Nou esp after such a positive win for Celtic v their OF rivals who were actually fairly poor opposition TBF. I tend to still peruse Celtic's historically poor Euro footie stats and their away record is downright dreadful, even in recent times. They may have a chance, with Scott Broon overcoming his injury as well, but alternatively they could be at the wrong end of a thrashing if Messiless (or merciless!) Barca hit the right kinda form with all their rested players 'returning to the fold' for this particular initial Champions League group match. A case of beware what you wish for!

They will get smashed all over the place. The gulf between barca and them is even vaster than the one between them and sevco. I expect a similar scoreline to Saturday for barca.

You are right about their away record,no chance of changing that here. Be interesting to see how BR approaches it.

Yep! Spot on Paigntonhibby! The great good for the Scottish game always was 'mince' and we've heard it spun out before! As you say - the rich get richer, a huge monopoly and no level playing field

Already 1-0 for Barca after just under 5 mins with a cracking goal by Lionel Messi from an acute angle - no messing about!

A second goal for Messi on 26 mins - great one-touch footie and literally 'walked the ball' into the Celtic net - a different, higher level of footie that is hard for the likes of this Celtic team to subdue!

Bad penalty miss by Celtic, that was their chance to put some doubt in Barca's heads by making it one one, and boy did Barca punish them for that miss!!!

Barca are just stunningly good, going through celtic like they aren't there at times. Its one thing gubbing diddy teams like rangers but this is a whole new thing entirely.

Iniesta coming on now just to underline that.

3-0 now fae a free kick, keeper should have done better.

fizzer from iniesta there and thats over and out.

5 now messi hat trick. celtic must just be longing to get off the park now.

5-0 with 30 mins to go!! How important was that penalty miss, probably wouldn't have made any difference but you never know!!
