Absolutely dominant performance by the USA Women's team in qualification!! By the end they were almost 10 points ahead of second place, an astounding margin in gymnastics!!!

GB men continued a host of 4th places, losing Bronze by 1.4 points to China. Japan won Gold with Russia taking Silver.

Aye, a plucky 4th. We used to celebrate plucky 4ths. Nowadays it just isn't what we've become used to.

A plucky 5th for the ladies team. USA were in a league of their own. (or is that the wrong sport?)

A medal for Max Whitlock. But what colour?
Not gold. It's a bronze. Well done.

Silver for GB's Bryony Page in the Trampolining Final. She's obviously seen a video of me pogoing back in the day!

Whey hey! just watching the golf when an alert came through that Max Whitlock has won a GOLD medal in the floor.
Didn't even know they'd started that yet.

And it's GOLD again for Max Whitlock. This time in the Pommel Horse.
And a silver for Louis Smith.

Nile Wilson wins Silver on the High Bars and Amy Tinkler wins a Bronze in the Floor Exercise to take GB's medal tally to 7, 2nd in the table behind USA.
The last disciplines will be the Rhythmic Gymnastics starting on Friday. Expect a lot of Eastern European precociousness, but as far as I'm concerned it's a lot of balls and hoops and ribbons - quite pretty to look at, but definitely not sport.
