Fancy getting hitched at Castle Hill?

Kirklees are considering weddings at Castle Hill to bring in some funding to preserve museums and galleries.

I'm surprised they haven't thought of it before. They already rent out places like Oakwell Hall for the purpose.

That's not a proposal btw!

Blimey that's even worse than Beaumont Park!

Mary Kenworthy, treasurer for the Friends group, said that staging a wedding in the bandstand had not proved easy.

“It is quite a logistical nightmare,” she said. “There’s no water or toilet facilities, unless you bring them..

“If this (wedding) was last week when it was lovely and warm it would have been super – when it’s changeable weather it’s a nightmare. We have already had a gazebo blow over.”

Unfortunately (or maybe thankfully?) we've already booked our venue.

Naah. Could renew our vows in the museum mentioned though. Folks would think me and Mrs JASOG was some sort of ancient exhibit.  Whistle

My favourite place in the world is Castle Hill.
Already told my daughter when I snuff it I want my ashes scattered there.

Tell her to take note of which way the wind's blowing - can be messy! Did that for my uncle and it wasn't terribly dignified, to be honest.

Lots of weddings planned here. Maybe Mrs Marco and I ought to pull our finger out. I'm the stumbling block, really. I wanted it to be 4th April, but we missed this year.

(I'd also like a sandwich piñata, but she keeps poohpoohing that)

4/4/15 isn't quite as good as 4/4/14 but hey, go for it!

Perhaps sensible to let Mrs Marco have her way on the pinata.
