Well at least he's taken it out of the selectors' hands. They won't have to make that decision now.

looks like lyth will be the next cab off the rank, although hales is looking in decent touch at the moment...

Lyth hasn't played for weeks. Comes in cold for the first test, fails, then never gets picked again.
He's got one match for Yorkshire to find his form again before the first test.

well i doubt that england will look at compton and robson yet, despite one getting a big score. if they are picking on big scores and dont think lyth has played enough (their own fault) then it has to be hales and I hope he does well in ireland, the boy gets slaughted for being naff at the red ball game, yet atm is one of the leading run makers in CC, could be to us what Warner is to Oz. if it is one big then 3 small, i think we will take it.
