I have gone along with the common view that Steve Bruce spends his was to being sacked. Season 1 he buys to survive as typically that is the reason he is brought to a club. He uses the survival success to rape the wallet of his chairman and has a good season. The repeats for the full second season in charge and sinks like the titanic.
Is this the full second season? He certainly has spent some dosh!

Lol. Just what happened at Huddersfield, apart from the first season we were pushing for the play offs instead of avoiding relegation. Like you say, he raped the new chairman's wallet. The chairman got cold feet, seeing his hard earned fortune rapidly slipping down a great big black hole and pulled the plug. It took us a couple of years, but we ended in administration and in the 4th division.
Not all entirely Bruce's fault, but he did waste the biggest pot of cash the club had ever had.
