Rochdale @Deepdale 3/4/2015

The final countdown has begun, by the the Bristol City play Swindon on Tuesday night, the second promotion place will be more clearer or will it. First up for North End are Rochdale who hammered us at Spotland 3-0 although on the day they were helped by our keeper having a nightmare, so much of a nightmare that he is now out on loan at Rochdale, sadly won't be able to play against us on Friday which will possibly make our job harder.
Dale have done well this season, just outside the play offs, they play decent football under Keith Hill and given their chance of getting in the play offs will mean they will have to go for it.
For us Robinson and Wright back from international duty, doubt over Huntington after his head injury last Sunday. Win this and we are seven points clear of third place before Swindon and MKD kick off on Saturday.

There are some ral key games coming up over the next few weeks which should shape the autos and playoff spots. Swindon have a tough stretch and as you say f they lose both games, which is likely, then that second auto spot is your for the taking!!

At the moment it is ours to lose but there is a determination by the team not to slip up this time

One step closer to ultimate aim of the season of getting out of League 1 with a hard fought win over a useful Rochdale side. 12300 saw a Beckford winner ten minutes before half time after North End had had a torrid first 30 minutes or so. Rochdale started well with young full back Cannon firing on all cylinders, this lad has pace and caused Robinson and Laird headaches with his mazy runs. Although they had plenty of the ball they rarely managed a clean shot at the North End goal although they did have a goal disallowed for offside.
This close call woke up the home side and they scored before half time, a throw in was headed up in the air and Beckford reacted quickest to slot the ball through Lillis;s legs. Could have been two a minute later but Garner's close range effort whizzed across the face of goal. Dale nearly levelled when Cannon again got in the the right hand side and his cross cum shot was palmed onto the post by Johnstone.
Scrappy first 15 minutes of the second half with Henderson heading wide for Dale really should have scored and that was the closet they would get again.
North End upped the pressure and two saves from Lillis kept the score down, apart from the usual buttock clinching lastr five minutes North End held on with ease.
So over to you Swindon and MK Dons, enjoy your meeting tomorrow a draw is not a good result for either of them. Seven points clear.
