The McGalphSmiths Stadium,
Near the ruins of what was The Gasworks,
Smells more of gas now than it ever did before,
Leeds Road on Colne
HD1 6PG
Kick-off 19:45 UK Time
Tuesday 04/03/25
The stars (and stripes?) of Disney+ bring International football back to the banks of The River Colne on Tuesday evening. I hope that young chap in charge of the stadium sound stuff does a better job than last time. For all of his failings, and being a pillock on more than one occassion, I could at least mostly hear what Rambo was waffling on about. Whoever the new guy is, I didn't have a scooby-doo what he said at any time v Posh.
Still, I won't be there for this one but at least wotsisname can get his balances sorted for when I come up for the Creepy Crawley game. 'appen. Won't hold me breath on that one.
In the meantime the chances of us scoring a home goal or even getting a home win this year are .......? Exactly.
On the tellybox
All the League One and League Two games are on Sky Sports+ and for you furriners Town are also on HTTV and probably a few dodgy stick channels. The landlord at the local has offered to put it on his tellyboxes for me, but there might be a few Vanilla and Gooners fans that moan in protest. I can always watch it on my phone whilst devouring a bowl of grey peys 'n' bayercon and some hand-pulled beverages.
Latest news
Hey Rat Fans, Kevin the Gerbil is back in Town.

- Huddersfield Town Chairman Kevin Nagle to engage supporters over afternoon tea
- Event to be held from 1pm in our boardroom at the John Smith’s Stadium on Thursday 6 March
- Supporters wishing to attend to share thoughts invited to place themselves under consideration.
Yeah.!

Well if I'm not coming up for the game, I'm definitley not coming up for tea and stickies with Kevin. I doubt he'll miss me.
Will anyone do a Trump rant on him though? 'You are not in a position to tell us fans that have supported the club for donkey's years that you can now increase the price of match/season tickets' ...... hmmm? 'appen as not.
Out Injured/Suspended/Isolating
Well, who isn't? No more injuries from Saturday for a change. Apparently, well they've still got training on Tuesday morning.
Back training but not oven ready/Back in the frame
Taylor might be fit enough to start, definitely in the squad apparently.
Musical Interlude
Wales, Wales!
Why do they build homes in Wales?
It rains and it pours,
Then it floods in through the doors.
So why do they build homes in Wales?
Apart from that .....

If you can find a band from anywhere north of Swansea and west of Chester let me know .... meanwhile ....
The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers were from somewhere nearer to Wrexham than this lot, but ....... look you, isn't it?

Last time out
Well, no surprise here then, Town went on the rampage at Stevenage and even manged to score two goals more than we've scored at home this year. We also won, which is something else I might have already mentioned we haven't done at home this year.

The Disney+ All Stars drew 0-0 at home to Bowton.
![[Image: Hzsp08n.png]](https://i.imgur.com/Hzsp08n.png)
Brum continued to sail off into what is a now a 12 point distant lead with a late winner at home to Wycombe. Wrexham and Bolton couldn't score a goal between them, Smogport won 2:1 at home to Blackpool. Charlton crawled into the top 6 with a 1:2 win at Orient, while Reading did what Town couldn't and won 1:2 at Wigan.
![[Image: zRUBvys.png]](https://i.imgur.com/zRUBvys.png)
Wrexham also managed to lose to Pish Posh in the EFL Trophy on penalties. A 2-0 lead at half-time evaporated in the 2nd half and Jed Steer saved two penalties as Pish Posh won the shoot-out 2-4.
The Sack Race
Another one bites the dust (well 2 actually) as Wigan become another club to sack their manager after they beat us, they lost to Reading, which you might just have noticed, and then MK Dons pullled the plug on Scott Lindsey. Meanwhile after Neil Harris stepped in at "The Wembley of the Fens" last month, Valerien Ismael moved into the empty chair at The Chicken Run about a week ago. Not sure if he's had any of Mrs. Tweedies Pies yet though but Blackburn and Norwich both left it late to score at the weekend.
Tables, Form & all that stats stuff.
Town are 2 places and 4 points below Wrexham. Oh, where could we have been? They have rarely been out of the top three all season and were it not for Wycombe confounding everyone, they'd likely have been in the top two.

Wrexham are brilliant against the lower 16 (lost 4 drawn 3, won huggins) but are worse than average against the top 8, which probably explains why they are 3rd and not 2nd or 1st.

Innies and Outies
The Welsh, or rather North American, Wind Bags continued to splash TV money cash in the January Sales.
![[Image: if0VKXx.png]](https://i.imgur.com/if0VKXx.png)
They also parted company with a player who's name even the Welsh would struggle to pronounce. I mean, how on earth do you pronounce Jones?

Who's banging 'em in
Callum Marshall has rocketed to the top of Town's goal scoring charts. There's every chance we'll have another chap in double figures this season and he won't be a centre back for a change.
![[Image: hPWObqX.png]](https://i.imgur.com/hPWObqX.png)
There's a reasonable chance of Wrexham having one too.

They can't all win
There's a full set of fixtures this Tuesday and apart from us and Wrexham, Brum wander up the M6 to Bowton, Wycombe welcome The Brewers, Smogport go to Northampton and Charlton are home to Barnsalee. Tagging along for the ride, Orient are at Rotherham and Reading are home to Exeter.
![[Image: NeIIblE.png]](https://i.imgur.com/NeIIblE.png)
Down amongst the deadmen, bottom dwellers The Shrews go to Trap Door Dwellers Brizzle, Creepy Crawley are at Lincoln whilst Cambridge are at home to Stevenage.
We've played 'em before
Only 15 previous League meetings with Town normally well on top at home, until recently.
![[Image: kUenouy.png]](https://i.imgur.com/kUenouy.png)
Next up?
Town travel to Brizzle on Saturday. A city with 2 railway stations that are both a helluva long walk away from the ground. Thick end of an hour's walk each according to Google Maps, though you can normally knock about 25% off their timings. Your taxi (or Uber) may need some gas, gas, gas.
