Brentford B coach Allan Steele has been appointed as Forest Green Rovers' new director of football.
Steele has been with Brentford for nine years and has been the technical lead for their B side since 2019.
The former teacher has gained coaching qualifications in Spain, Ireland and the United States of America.
He joins a Forest Green Rovers side who finished bottom of League One with just six wins from 46 games, a year after they won the League Two title.
"He has a wealth of knowledge and experience which will be key in our next steps," said Forest Green chairman Dale Vince.
"He has been at Brentford during their rapid rise from League One to an established Premier League side."
Steele said: "This is an amazing opportunity and it's a project I'm hugely excited to be a part of.
"It's a chance for a fresh start and everybody at the club has been so warm and welcoming - they've really looked after me. I want to work as hard as I can for everyone associated with the club.
"I had a long period of time speaking with Dale and I was really inspired and intrigued by what he had to say. I'm hugely impressed by his values, his personality and what he's done with the club over a short period of time."

Forest Green Rovers have signed midfielder Callum Jones on a season-long loan from Hull City.
The 22-year-old joined the Tigers in 2019 from Bury and has played 11 times for the Championship side, signing an extension in January until 2025.
Jones spent the first half of 2021-22 season on loan at Morecambe, where he made 18 appearances.
He also had a spell at Grimsby Town but it was limited to just three games due to injury.
"I'm a player who loves to get on the ball and dictate the play. I can also get in amongst it. It's a tough league and I can bring that physical side," Jones said in a statement.

Former Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Ross Doohan has signed for Aberdeen from Forest Green Rovers.
The 25-year-old, who has agreed a two-year contract, had joined Forest Green from Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee in January.
But his 19 appearances could not prevent relegation from England's League One.
Doohan told Aberdeen's website: "As soon as I heard of the interest, I was keen to get it agreed quickly."

He said that, with "a massive season with European matches to look forward to", it was "just an opportunity I couldn't turn down".
"Being here at such a big club is only going to benefit me in the long term in terms of my development," Doohan said.
His departure follows the exit of Duncan Ferguson after less than six months as manager, with Hannah Dingley being named as caretaker - the first female boss of a men's professional football side.
Doohan came through Celtic's youth ranks and had loan spells with Cumbernauld Colts, Greenock Morton, Ayr United, Ross County, Dundee United and Tranmere Rovers before joining the League Two club permanently in August.
He will compete with current number one Kelle Roos and the Dutchman's predecessor, Joe Lewis, for a starting place, with manager Barry Robson pointing to his extensive experience "despite his age".
"He is composed and decisive and we look forward to helping Ross continue his professional development," he said.
"We've got a significant number of fixtures to play this season, so I am sure Ross will be an important asset for us and will be an excellent addition to the fantastic group of goalkeepers we have here at Aberdeen."

The 29-year-old was released by the club following the end of last season, but will now remain at The New Lawn.
He has made 92 appearances - 14 of which came last season - since joining Rovers from MK Dons in 2020.
"I'm over the moon to re-sign. It's been a bit of a whirlwind, but being back amongst the lads has been great," he said.
Forest Green have not disclosed the length of Moore-Taylor's new deal.

The 35-year-old made 12 appearances during a two-year spell with Boro, with all his outings for the Championship side coming in the 2021-22 campaign.

A former Manchester United trainee, Daniels has previously had stints at West Bromwich Albion, Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers, Rochdale, Bristol Rovers, Southend United, Scunthorpe United and Brentford.

The experienced forward started his career with League Two Rovers in 2011 and played 96 times for the club, scoring 28 goals over three seasons.
"I'm really excited to be here," Taylor told the club website.
"It's been a while, but I can't wait to get going here again.
"I'll work hard while I'm here. Get myself in the box, get on the end of things and hopefully put the ball in the back of the net."

He went on to play for Bristol City in the Championship before arriving at Oxford.
Across League One and League Two the striker has scored 101 goals in 225 games.

The 22-year-old New Zealand international made two appearances for the Tykes last season after joining from Swansea in summer 2022.
He said: "I'm buzzing to be here. The whole club, the whole opportunity is something that I really looked at and thought 'I want to be a part of that'.
"The club wants to go forward and I want to go forward. I want to help the club get back to League One."
Forest Green manager David Horseman said Searle is a goalkeeper with "high potential".
"We're really excited to have him with us," he added.
Searle is the second goalkeeper to join the League Two club this summer after the arrival of Luke Daniels following his release by Middlesbrough.
