Defender Travis Johnson has become Kevin Betsy's first signing as Crawley Town manager.

The 21-year-old had been released by Crewe Alexandra after the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.

Johnson made 40 appearances for Crewe after graduating from the club's academy.

"I am buzzing to get the deal over the line. Ever since I heard about the interest, I have not been able to stop thinking about it," he said.

He played 20 times in League One as the Railwaymen finished bottom of the table last season.

Crawley finished 12th in League Two, with ex-manager John Yems leaving in May in the wake of racism and discriminatory conduct allegations.

Former Arsenal Under-23s boss Betsy was named manager on a two-year contract on 6 June.

"I spoke to the manager and saw the ambition that he has for the club and what he is trying to put in place," Johnson added.

"The general feel of all the staff members that I have met is good, and everyone seems to be working in sync and looking to achieve the same thing."

Striker Ashley Nadesan has signed a two-year contract extension with Crawley Town.

The 27-year-old has scored 24 goals in 119 games since joining the club in 2019.

Nadesan scored nine times last season as the Sussex club finished 12th in League Two.

Former Arsenal under-23s boss Betsy was named as manager earlier this month, replacing John Yems after he left amid racism and discriminatory conduct allegations.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new two-year deal with the club, with the blessing of the new manager and the new owners," he told the club's website.

"I have enjoyed every minute of the three years that I've been here and I feel like I have a lot of unfinished business.

"I want to score as many goals as I can this season and I feel that promotion is definitely the target for us."

Crawley Town have signed Dom Telford on a three-year deal following the end of his contract at Newport County.

Telford was the top scorer in League Two last season with 25 goals in 37 matches.

The 25-year-old joined Newport from Plymouth Argyle in January 2021 but turned down a new deal at County and confirmed his exit this month.

The forward began his career at Blackpool and has also enjoyed spells at Stoke City, Bristol Rovers and Bury.

"It has been a bit of a fast deal, to be honest, but I am buzzing to get in for the start of the season," Telford told the Crawley website.

"I spoke to the manager, the assistant and the owners, and I am an ambitious player. I like the sound of what is going on at the club at the minute.

"Everyone is getting behind it, and it is clear where they want to take the club. I feel like this is a good place to call home."

Crawley Town have signed goalkeeper Corey Addai on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old was most recently playing for Danish second-tier side Esbjerg and has had spells with Coventry City and Barnsley.

He played two games for Chesterfield in the National League while on loan from Barnsley in November 2020, and has also played lower-level non-league football.

Addai spent last week on trial at Crawley and kept a clean sheet in their pre-season game against Eastbourne.

"We have been really impressed with Corey during his time with us," manager Kevin Betsy told the League Two club's website.

"He has trained really well and adapted to the style of play that we are looking to implement, but most importantly he is a great shot-stopper. He is really good inside the box and has a fantastic presence.

"Corey will provide very strong competition to Glenn [Morris], who has been a fantastic servant to the club.

"It is very important to have good competition from a younger goalkeeper. We are delighted that he has chosen to join us."

rawley Town have signed Ben Wells, Jayden Davis and Moe Shubbar on one-year deals after trials with the club.

Defender Wells, 22, began his career in West Ham's academy and joined QPR in 2018, although he did not make a first-team appearance for the club.

He spent last season with Welling United in National League South.

Midfielder Davis, 20, came through the academy at Millwall and spent time on loan at King's Lynn last season before being released by the Lions.

Forward Shubbar most recently played in non-league for Cheshunt and Edgware Town, and scored five goals during recent pre-season matches for Crawley.

Crawley Town have signed former Milton Keynes Dons wide player Brandon Mason.

Mason, who was a free agent after being released by the League One side in May, has signed a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old did not play a game for Milton Keynes after joining on a short-term deal in March, but made 46 appearances for Coventry in a three-year spell that ended in 2021.

He spent time on loan at St Mirren and started out at Watford - playing twice for them in the Premier League in 2017.

"There are so many good things going on at Crawley at the moment," Mason told the club website.

"The new owners have come in as well as Kevin (Betsy, Crawley Town manager), who is looking to play a really exciting brand of football.

"I am looking forward to getting back and enjoying my football again."

Crawley Town have signed midfielder Teddy Jenks on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 20-year-old joined Brighton when he was 10 and made the first of his two first-team appearances in the EFL Cup in 2019.

He spent the last campaign on loan with Aberdeen, playing 24 times in the Scottish Premiership and scoring twice.

Jenks has links to Crawley through manager Kevin Betsy, who he played for while part of England Under-15s.

Crawley Town have signed goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brentford.

The 22-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at National League side Bromley, where he earned the starting position.

He won the FA Trophy with the Ravens in a 1-0 victory over Wrexham at Wembley, and kept five clean sheets in 15 appearances.

The 6ft 3in (190cm) shot-stopper came through Brentford's youth programme.

Balcombe has also seen first-team action during loan spells with Boreham Wood and Doncaster Rovers between 2018 and 2021.

He was selected to make his debut in Crawley's League Two opener away at Carlisle United on Saturday.

Crawley Town have signed Arsenal Under-23 defender Mazeed Ogungbo on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old joins back up with former Gunners youth boss Kevin Betsy at Crawley, having played 23 times for Arsenal's Premier League 2 side.

The Republic of Ireland youth player, who is also eligible for Nigeria, signed his first professional deal with the Premier League side last summer.

Ogungbo is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Gunners.

"We have managed to secure a really talented young player in Mazeed, an amazing character," Betsy told the Crawley website.

"He's a very good defender who is quick and has the ability to play in three positions. He is a great addition to the squad and will add competition for places in the back line."

Crawley Town have signed forward David Bremang from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee and goalkeeper David Robson on loan from Hull City.

Bremang, 22, has signed a two-year contract at Oakwell, while Robson, 20, has joined on a deal until January.

Tykes boss Kevin Betsy told the club website: "David is a player that we have been tracking. He is very quick and powerful and is a good finisher."

Betsy also described Robson as "a quality shot-stopper".
