Yep, first ever double hat-trick in a T20 World Cup, and only the third player to do it in T20 internationals full stop. With the exception of Van der Merwe dragging on to the stumps, they were all proper wicket-taking deliveries as well.

Following a comfortable start for Oman and a historic upset for Scotland, the first set of preliminary matches concluded with Ireland cruising past Netherlands and Sri Lanka avoiding any banana skins as they brushed Namibia aside.
