2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window
Oh dear why don't we give the team and the new players a chance. Most of you are always moaning about something. Just back what we've got for a change - the players read this and it can't give them much confidence. Huh

My worry about sacking him is that he excels at getting the best out of a crap side and that's very much what we have at the moment. I wouldn't be against sacking him in a transfer window if we were going to give a new manager some investment. But I can't see many managers getting much out of this set of players.

That said, we could still go down with Pulis but I think his tactics give us a chance of staying up. But our squad is pretty dour at the moment...

Totally agree with both your posts, Slick  Thumb up

Some time ago, the 'Secret Footballer' (alleged to be Dave Kitson) suggested a certain Premiership manager whose detailed description exactly fitted TP, would only sign players who were with his own 'agent' or an 'agent' who would agree to a kick-back cut on any transfer fee.

One wonders if some of this might be the "footballing reasons" we missed out on signings and had yet another poor transfer window. Plus, could it be that Pulis is pissed as he needs the money to pay back Palace - perhaps John Williams knows it and is similarly pissed with Pulis' modus operendi and has clipped his wings.

Whatever way, Pulis' position is becoming untenable and could continue to bait the Chairman and Board to sack him and earn a big contract payout. Resign and you get nowt.

Uncle Roy could then take over for the rest of the season while we find a younger coach for the future.

Happy days !

Possibly like others, I feel that the current spat between Pulis and Williams is extremely damaging to morale. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation, I can't help but think that Pulis has handled this incredibly badly and his displayed a complete lack of leadership with the players. I'm sure he is frustrated, I'm sure these are not the players he wanted to sign but to go public with these views as a means of retaliating against Williams is, I believe, completely crass. In all honesty, how does he think these new additions will now feel? "Well, lads, I didn't want to sign you because I wanted to get better players but you're here now so we'd better make the best of it". Cracking motivational stuff. If he's hacked off with Williams, then have a 1:1 with him and tell him how pissed off he is but then it stays private. Don't get me wrong, I think Williams has also acted poorly but, in his defence, he clearly felt, as chief Exec, that he had to make a public statement because of the supporters' discontent overvthectransfer window. He could, however, have made a far less inflammatory statement. Perhaps the new signings will come out fired up, aiming to show Pulis how wrong he is but somehow I feel not. All in all, a complete shambles.

Bournemouth fan in peace here. First off I think the two posters above need to get a room instead of just flirting with each other  Whistle

Joking aside as an outsider my perspective with your transfers in the window is that as a club you had two options.

Back Pulis
Sack Pulis

It seems because of the chinese takeover neither was done, although I think the second option will happen soon; albeit at completely the wrong time for you as which manager in their right mind would want to take on a club at this stage of the season and not be able to bring any new players in of his choosing. The answer to that is a manager that's going to be a sideways move rather than improving things for you.
