Got a bit worried when I read that the decision "is all down to the striker's will" - we've got a few elderly players but never actually had a dead body playing for us before. Unless you know different...

Lucas Perez will be the like for like replacement for Berahino. He is a good finisher like Berahino (before his slump), has plenty of pace which means he is at his best when playing off the shoulder off the centre backs, like Berahino was under Irvine and Mel and he could be the perfect partner for Rondon.

However, I can see him moving to Arsenal or Everton to be honest but you never know.

Going round and round on this one, but the press including locals are reporting the £25 million acquisition of Islam Slimani is almost done, though most of the reports seem to come from a report in a Portuguese newspaper. Same sources also saying we are still on track to bring in JR on loan.

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis: "I'm not going to panic and bring a load of players in to satisfy people out there and then, after two weeks, they say they are no better than what we've got.

"They have to be the right players. When I came into the club there were players who were here and have since left and they cost an enormous amount of money and the club has not got any return."

He's not wrong mind...

Just read that the Slimani deal is all but done, however Sporting want him to play Sunday, so it could happen start of next week...hopefully.
