There's the first part done.

GOLD FOR MO.

No gold for Greg though.

It's a bronze

And it's looking like a silver for Jess.

Still not a bad haul for us, with hopefully more to come. My daughter keeps telling me off for calling it Athletics, she says it's called Track and Field and that everyone competing at the Olympics is an athlete so it's all technically athletic!!! Bloody Yanks and their terminology!!!

Sophie Hitchon won an historic Bronze in the Hammer competition, becoming the first British female hammer thrower to win an Olympic medal.

Men's 4x400m relay team win their heat but then get dq. Nobody knows why. Disgraceful judging. Coincidence that Brazil now qualify instead. Angry

Bronze and a British record for the 4x100 girls. Smile

Superb race by Mo, lots of bumping but once he hit the front he wasn't going to let anyone pass him.

Shocking disqualification of the US guy who came second in the 5000m. During the race he put his left foot on the line once on the inside of the track. Thankfully they saw sense and later reinstated him!!!

Olympic medals must be enormously light.

However many you get they never sink in.
