Transfer Window Definition:
There are two transfer windows in each Barclays Premier League season.
·     The first starts at midnight on last day of the closing season and ends 31 August if a working day - or, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.
·     The second starts at midnight on the 31 December and ends 31 January if a working day, and again, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.

Loans (Temporary Transfers):
·     Only 2 season long loans are possible from other domestic leagues (and only 1 from any given club).
·     But they can have limitless International loans
·     In the
Premier League, players on loan are not permitted to play against the team which holds their registration (section 7.2 of rule M.6).
·     Loanees are, however, allowed to play against their 'owning' clubs in cup competitions, unless they have played for their owning club in that cup during that season.
·     Temporary transfers can be made permanent outside of the transfer windows

Home Grown Player: A player who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or The Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of 3 seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21) and for the purposes of this definition of “Home Grown Player” a season will be deemed to commence on the date on which the first transfer window closes and expire on the date of the final league match of the season

Guys - I have started this thread but will let it sink out of view if there is nothing to report. But as there is already speculation around Saido I wanted to capture this rather than forget it. Feel free to comment but do not expect it to 'stick' as an important thread until we get to the end of seaosn.

According to a report from talkSPORT, West Brom are interested in making a move for experienced German striker Sandro Wagner.

The Baggies and other potential suitors will have more confidence in getting the 28-year-old after he was coy about his future in Germany as he spoke to Bild, with a move to the Premier League looking likely.

I am pleased you are doing this again Aries, as this keeps me updated with not having much time to scour the papers. Well done.

What thoughts on the expiring contracts - will they be offered new contracts?

BBB, it ain't Aries who produced this excellent post its young STAIRS !!!!! Credit where credit is due.

Only confusion I've noticed is when the window closes - there ain't 31 days in September. Should this not read 31 August ?

Thebaggieman, I think this is just another FA ploy, for their elite group of six the window closes as stated, as the 31st September does not exist they can keep on buying players add infinitum but for the rest of us it closes as per normal.
