And so the World 20/20 gets underway on Tuesday the 8th of March. Well sort of. That's when the preliminary round starts. The proper games start a week later.
First up then are two preliminary groups lined up as such:-


First Round
Group A - Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Oman.
Group B - Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Scotland, Zimbabwe.

The team that finishes top of each group then goes through to the next round and into the groups which line up so:-

Super 10 (Group 1) - England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Group B winner
Super 10 (Group 2) - Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Group A winner

Feel a bit sorry for Bangladesh. Theyve been making drastic improvements yet the icc (indian cricket council, its not international otherwise india would have had to fall in line ages ago) still decide to keep them under the boot.

Aye. I started watching that SA v Aus match today but got bored with it.

The sa aus match went down to the last ball. Thats the good thing about t20 they do give a lot of entertainment

It's the only form of cricket that seems to keep the attention of those with a short span, plus it makes money and is ideal for younger families. The only form of cricket that has to be worried is one day.

Hence they have cut the County Championship down to four days. This tournament is being played in India for the simple reason the big three Australia, India and England now dominant the hierarchy of International cricket, all major tournaments are now to be played in the big three countries down to money not cricketing reasons.
