Still can't defend but has played in the last six games and we've not let any in, think the lad lacks experience which at the age of 24 does seem a bit strange. He's quite good at waving his arms around in a Belgian type of way when he's at fault, but to be fair to him he's doing all right

A lack of experience stems from the fact that he has played less than 50 pro games in his whole career so far!!!  Its also a product of being stuck in Man Utd's academy with little or no chance of playing for the  first team for so long.  Makes you wonder what other players are stuck in the reserve sides of prem teams that could play maybe a league down but play week in, week out??

Sometimes players are quite happy to be stuck in the stiffs as long as they get paid, although quite a few are seeing sense and trying the game lower down to get back up to the top.

Paddy McCarthy's loan spell comes to an end he last 8 minutes, possibly the shortest career ever as a North Ender

How is Doyle playing for Preston and do you think he will sign permanently for you?

Hard to say looks good in away games, struggles a bit at home, at the moment, he's got good movement can find a space but we have not quite worked out how to use him properly, whether we sign him depends on how he fares over the next six months or so, if he gets the service he will score for us

At Chesterfield he played upfront as the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 and had the three players behind him threading through balls. I always thought he played well playing wide so he could chase the ball and float it into the box for other players. I think the reason he played well at Chesterfield was because Cook built the team around him and he had great players like Jimmy Ryan and Gary Roberts who could deliver the ball on a plate for him.

I can't see him staying at Cardiff much longer, if he had stayed at Chesterfield till the end of the season then probably Chesterfield could have been in the Championship instead of Preston but I'm not sure if our board wanted promotion to the Championship as I don't think they would have been able to afford it but one season in the Championship would have wiped the majority of our debt.
