HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has won a ruling that Rangers' use of Employee Benefit Trusts (EBTs) was illegal.

Rangers used the scheme from 2001 until 2010 to give millions of pounds of tax-free loans to players and other staff.

In what became known as the "big tax case", HMRC claimed these were salary payments and subject to tax.

HMRC lost its appeals at tax tribunals in 2012 and 2014. Now three three judges at the Court of Session in Edinburgh have upheld their appeal.

£7.5 million loss- that's not very good news, albeit lying King only took over in March. Looks like a considerable amount of investment/ more loans will be required to get to the end of this current season

Hence King's statements about funding the other day.

Everything is in hand, no need for you to panic, Tin Tit. Thumb up

The latest judgement on the 'Big Tax Case', 04/11/2015.

SECOND DIVISION, INNER HOUSE, COURT OF SESSION

OPINION OF THE COURT delivered by LORD DRUMMOND YOUNG in an appeal to the Court of Session by THE ADVOCATE GENERAL FOR SCOTLAND Appellant; against a decision of the Upper Tribunal dated 8 July 2014 in relation to assessments to tax made on
(1) MURRAY GROUP HOLDINGS LTD; (2) MURRAY GROUP MANAGEMENT LTD; (3) THE PREMIER PROPERTY GROUP LTD; (4) GM MINING LTD; and (5) RFC 2012 PLC (in liquidation) (formerly The Rangers Football Club PLC)

If Rangers had been 'liquidated', how come Rangers' Oldco is cited as a contestant in this Case ?

Celtic fans will now claim it's the *old club* so the titles can be stripped and the Rangers fans will claim it's a *new club* so they cant Wink

You need to learn the difference between 'club' and 'company'.

You're not the first, and you won't be the last to make that basic error, Moron1. In fact, I'm not entirely convinced you haven't made that error before. Is it deliberate?

Plus, titles can't be stripped because an independent SFA investigation found that no sporting advantage was gained.

You're rubbish at this trolling lark. Laugh
