A very interesting second day here. Van Zyl had a seven shot lead at one stage but played his final eight holes in two over, allowing the field to close on him. Bland, Levy & McDowell all hit seven under rounds and Dubuisson an eight under round but all were eclipsed by a magnificent nine under by Fitzpatrick, who is in contention after an opening round of one over.

Matthew Fitzpatrick 22/1 -8 Tied 11th
Andy Sullivan 25/1 -1 Tied 57th
Ian Poulter 25/1 -5 Tied 25th
Thomas Pieters 35/1 -6 Tied 18th
Fabrizio Zanotti 50/1 -11 Tied 4th
Lucas Bjerregaard 50/1 -7 Tied 15th

Sullivan is out of it & Poulter just hasn't got it to charge the field but I think we have four live contenders to take on the field. Van Zyl should be favourite being two ahead but the big shadow of Rory McIlroy on -10 makes him less than 2/1 in most bookies eyes. Chris Wood is looking great on -12 although I expect Richard Bland to show his usual weekend nerves & fall away.

Dubuisson has won here before & Aphibarnrat is remarkably consistent so should be an interesting weekend. Hopefully good news when I get home tomorrow night.

Five Bets for this weekend. Nothing too big but should be enough to turn a tidy profit.

Birmingham v Wolves

Five of the Blues six home matches have failed to reach 10.5 corners at an average of 9.17 corners while five of Wolves six away matches have also failed to reach this line at an average of 9.0. Bet TWO POINTS on Under 10 Corners (DNB) at 1.975.

Reading v Brighton

Five of Reading's six home matches have fallen short of 10.5 corners at an average of 8.33 corners while four out of Brighton's six away matches have failed to reach this line at an average of 10.17. Bet TWO POINTS on Under 10.5 Corners at 4/5.

Preston v Bolton

Five of Preston's six home matches have dropped short of 10.5 corners at an average of 8.17 corners while Bolton's last three away matches have all failed to reach this line at an average of 6.33. Bet ONE POINT on Under 10.5 Corners at 1.975.

Coventry v Peterboro

This looks good for high corners. City's last four home matches have had 12-16-11-13 corners while Posh's away corners have been 15-12-13-19-12-8-19. Bet ONE POINT on Over 11 Corners (DNB) at 1.975.

Oldham v Burton

This should be a low corners match. Burton have been great for low corners on their travels with totals of 9-6-4-9-9-9 while Oldham's last three home totals have been 10-7-6. Bet ONE POINT on Under 10 Corners (DNB) at 1.825.

Correct Score Bets

Burnley v Huddersfield 1-0 2-0
Derby v Rotherham 2-0 2-1
Middlesbrough v Charlton 2-0 3-0
Notts Co v Portsmouth 0-2 1-2

Good Luck!

After Round Three, all our players is good positions after Lingmerth follows his second round 65 with a 64. Na also hits a 64 as all four of our players are in the Top Ten with a round to go.

Kevin Na 14/1 -19 3rd
Hideki Matsuyama 16/1 -17 Tied 4th
Ryan Moore 20/1 -14 Tied 10th
David Lingmerth 110/1 -14 Tied 10th

Looking for a great final day. Thomas & Steele lead Na by one shot but both looked shaky when in front. Thomas led by four shots but faltered then Steele hit the front but stumbled over the easy closing two holes. Lingmerth was the best player in Round Three but he is probably too far back to win it. Hahn was the most impressive of the rest and Scott finished the best. Na has proved that he can finish.

We finished with two places with Kevin Na finishing Tied 3rd at 14/1 and Matsuyama finishing 5th at 16/1. In fact all four of our players finished in the Top 15. Matsuyama hit three birdies in the first five holes but never got closer after that picking up just two more birdies. Na started like a train with an eagle and two birdies from his opening seven holes but could only pick up one more after that. Justin Thomas was a worthy winner. Scott pushed him close by picking up five shots on the front nine and taking the lead but with the pressure of leading gone, Thomas finished like a train with four birdies in the final five holes to win by a shot.

Thomas is a talented young player, who hits the ball a long way. This win should dispel the nerves & I wouldn't be surprised if a second win comes pretty soon.

Kevin Na 14/1 -24 Tied 3rd
Hideki Matsuyama 16/1 -22 5th
Ryan Moore 20/1 -17 Tied 10th
David Lingmerth 110/1 -16 Tied 14th

All three bets won comfortably last night to register a tidy profit and more than cover any losses from the weekend.

Sanderson Farms Championship

This tournament features one of the weakest fields that we are likely to see Stateside so picking a winner could be pretty tricky. It is being played for the second time at the Jackson Country Club, Mississippi so we have limited course form to go on.

In my mind, I was favouring Jason Bohn here & looking for a price of 25/1 - 33/1 but the bookies have priced him as the 12/1 favourite so I cannot see any value. This is a great opportunity for a rookie to claim their first win while the journeymen players will see this as a chance to claim that once per season win.

The limited evidence suggests that this tournnament will be won by whoever scores best on the par 5s. The other key factors are likely to be GIR & Putting.

I expected Patrick Rodgers to be the favourite here but he is rated second at 14/1. I think that is a fair price but I think we have to go for something bigger priced in a very open event.

Kevin Streelman 33/1

We had Streelman two weeks ago in his last tournament at the Shriners and he gave us a decent run and a Top Twenty finish. This is a much weaker field and with the vast majority looking for their maiden win, we at least know Streelman can get over the line on a Sunday and at 33/1, we get a fair price on a player that is unreliable but can win when he is hot.

Graham DeLaet 40/1

Talking of unreliable, I have chosen to go with DeLaet. On his day, he can beat everyone here and at 40/1, we are getting decent value. It is a bit of a "stick a pin in it" sort of event but at least we know De Laet is one of the better players.

Dawie van der Walt 125/1

Obviously at this price he is a bit of a punt but there will probably be three players at 100/1+ placed here. I like his form on the Web.com tour last season and his 3rd place for GIR and 6th for Par 5 scoring are perfect for this course so he could be a lively outsider.

Paddy Power are offering 1/5 for 7 places so great value there particularly as this is an event which could throw up a long priced winner and most likely will give some big priced places. Certainly an event worth watching because we get to see a lot of the rookies in action and maybe we spot the next Justin Thomas.

Others that might be worth considering are: William McGirt, Smylie Kaufman & Jhonattan Vegas.
