Rangers FC - International Call-Ups
That smacks of defeatism right from the start, TheWorthinGer, but it's backed up by the bare facts that we hardly posed a threat to Germany when they were at their lowest - a situation exploited in following games by both Poland and Ireland.

Kind of torn in terms of where we go from here, On one hand we competed well with germany and poland and were unlucky not to beat the republic home and away. only the georgia away result could really be claimed as a bad one.

Then on the other hand we only won 2 games outside the gibraltar ones. Stick or twist ?

I think, without a credible alternative we'll have to stick, although as El Car says he'll stick by his tried-and-trusted (but-failed-miserably-again) going forward. It's a full year until the next qualifying campaign starts. If change is going to be made it has to be now. Scott Brown will be another year slower, Steven Fletcher's scoring record will still read Scored 8 (6 v Gibraltar), wee Shaun Maloney's arse will be another year fatter and Darren Fletcher will still be thinking he's got all the time on the ball he wants.

Time for change, if not at managerial level then at least at squad level.

Defeatism? Realism more like - the world was in shock when Poland beat the world champions followed by their draw with the Irish.

60 odd attempts they had in those two games but picked up a point. They then did what they had to do when we didn't.

If only we'd had the Dutch in our group!!!

Just had a look at the finishing tables and we could have a brilliant wee tourney with the team's that won't or may not be there:

Netherlands
Sweden
Norway
Turkey
Serbia
Cyprus
Ukraine
Hungary
Denmark
Scotland
Slovenia
Israel

Obviously some in playoffs but with those that don't make it and a couple of others a nice wee two groups of 4 with semis then final.

Turkey will be there as best third place team I think. I hear what you're saying though. It's funny seeing the teams that might miss out when you consider how big the finals will be this time in terms of numbers, and some of the relative minnows who'll be there (Wales, N.Ireland, Iceland, Albania). Some of that came down to luck of the draw in qualifying but Iceland didn't have an easy job. Their u21 side looks strong too, topping our Euro 17 group.

Maybe we should have a "Not at the Euro's" competition ..... Eufa are perhaps missing a beat here
