I wouldn't mind seeing the cubs go deep into the WS playoffs as they're a club that hasn't tasted success for eons.
But, getting back to the Jays, I'm becoming convinced now that the deck is stacked against us. When I was on twitter the other night watching us lose G2, I was struck by the number of Canadians who were saying that the umps were favoring the Rangers because they are an American team. "Nah," thought I. But, fact is that guy was out at 3rd base, replays showed this and they did see the replays. The jays were being called on strikes that were way out of the strike zone. Even the American commentators said this.
Now, Don Cherry (who admittedly is a hockey sportscaster and a bit of a nutcase) has said that the Jays are being "stiffed" by MLB because they are a Canadian team.

When the Jays last played in WS games, TV ratings went way down because US viewers aren't interested in watching Canadian teams play. And like my late father in law used to say about everything: "It's all about money."
The Jays have the talent to come back, but the odds are slim. Nothing against the Rangers. They've played good baseball. But, it's like when the Owls get a ref who's giving all the calls to the opposition. We have to get our bats working tonight, our big hitters have to come through, if we are to beat the Rangers plus the officials.

"God Save the King."
