Feb 1st (Final Day): WBA January 2016 Transfer Window
WEST BROM STATEMENT

Jeremy Peace and West Bromwich Albion have released a statement with regards to Saido Berahino and Tottenham Hotspur.

Berahino earlier posted a tweet airing his discontent after the club rejected Spurs' third and fourth bids for the striker.

Peace said: “We have a key player who has been very unsettled by antics which were designed to get him out of our club cheaply.

"Those tactics have continued despite my making our position clear in my first conversation with Daniel Levy on this subject in mid-August. I said selling Saido so late in the window was not on our agenda.

“Saido has been unsettled to the point where our Head Coach has not felt able to select him for our last three games. We are now left with the task of repairing the damage created by this unfortunate episode.”

We are danger of blaming Spurs for all our woes here let try not to use it as a smoke screen, the fact is we still have positions which needed to be filled such as Full Backs and a creative midfielder. Brunt injured and Lescott gone who is going to play at LB and before people say what about Poco (who I personally quite like) TP thought he was not good enough before why will he suddenly be good enough now. Don't get me wrong he may have to be, just using this as an example.

Maybe we'll see Olsson bombing it down the left and whipping in some quality crosses.

In seriousness I think TP will play Chester there if he still doesn't trust Poco. That's what he did in the cup.

I'd like to think Pocognoli would play there ahead of Chester/Mclean whoever else but you're obviously right about this failure. Brunt is in the Northern Ireland squad for this set of qualifiers so I don't think his injury is too serious.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but could Berahino still go to Spurs on loan?

Im convinced everything Saido has done today is to get a move away,

The words little prick comes to mind

And the selfie that's doing the rounds on Twitter from 2pm this afternoon confirms this,

JANUARY MOVE?

Saido Berahino is 5/6 with Sky Bet to join Tottenham in the January transfer window. Arsenal and Manchester City are both priced up at 25/1 to land the West Brom forward. DD Whistle Whistle

'JEREMY NEVER LOSES'

Interesting insight from former West Brom player Curtis Davies on why Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace decided not to sell Saido Berahino...
Jeremy never loses! He gets his money or you stay put. #TrustMe https://t.co/cvfOLH1Vwh

I don't think the window has been too terrible, however, the Saido thing leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

What the pea brained idiot doesn't seem to realise is that if he wasn't such an unprofessional, disruptive moron, there would probably be more teams in for him in the first place. That's also probably a contributing factor why Spurs didn't put the cash up front - because someone with his level of professionalism is a big gamble.

If his brain matched his footballing ability, I'm convinced he would've got a move already because he's talented enough to attract the interest of all the top teams. It's his attitude which means most of them wont touch him with a barge pole. His latest rant isn't going to go down well with many of his potential suitors in January.

The guy needs to knuckle down and play football. If he does that and keeps his mouth shut, he'll get a move in January because there's undoubtedly going to be sides who need a forward. If he rots in the reserves, which appears to be his plan; he'll be fortunate if anyone wants him.
