Don't see what the big fuss is about Phillips personally...... he's ok, and I suppose we are running out of time and options as _1996 has stated above, but I feel he's overhyped. Really need someone who's more of a playmaker imo. He's ok for running at defences, but lacks a bit of guile to play in the #10 role. As a winger he's an ok option, but personally would have preferred Sako or Antonio. Seems he's the only option we've got going at the moment though so, TP..... do your thing.

LESCOTT,

Can someone/anyone please give me a good reason why we are letting our best centre half go to a rival? Player of the season, our best centre back, and can play left back (although i don't like that!). We cant use his age as an excuse as we have McAuley still playing and Olsson must be as a similar age to Jolean?

I appreciate that Villa is his boyhood club but he is our player and we call the shots (I think?!?)!

It must be something to do with his contract? Can anyone shed any light because I am bemused by this one!

IMO Lescott hasnt looked a shade on what he did last year, everytime he has the ball I find myself wincing, he just looks old and slow. I know he has buckets full of experience at all levels. But put it this way, would you rather have a rapidly aging Lescott or Evans? (a potential defensive for the next 3/4/5 years)?

We could of not brought Evans and Kept/keep Lescott another year, but whose to say the player we would of replaced him with next year would be as good as Evans/Lescott?

OK it's the Mail:
The Daily Mail report that West Brom have lodged a bid to sign Phillips, and it involves Jonas Olsson and Victor Anichebe heading to QPR in exchange.

Go TP, go! Thumb up

No one seems to be commenting on our acquisition of another goalkeeper.

Surely once Foster is fit again, either he or Myhill will be sold in the January transfer window.

That's another Man U player we have signed on a free.

Hope the Phillips deal comes off.

James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, who I think is meant to be reliable, says the fee for Enrique is nominal.

Apparently QPR reckon that Fer, Austin and Phillips aren't going anywhere............

I'd be happy to release / sell / swap anyone in our squad except Yacob / Berahino / Rondon / Mcauley / Brunt and Mcmanaman if it means better quality is coming in.
