Feb 1st (Final Day): WBA January 2016 Transfer Window
SPURS TO RENEW BERAHINO BID

Tottenham are preparing a revised bid worth £22million for West Brom striker Saido Berahino and are confident of signing him before the transfer window closes, according to the London Evening Standard.

Albion chairman Jeremy Peace has claimed the 22-year-old is not for sale, but that has not put off his counterpart Daniel Levy, who appears undeterred after Spurs’ initial £18million bid was publicly rejected on Tuesday.

Berahino, who is currently paid just £15,000-a-week, has just two years left on his contract at The Hawthorns and, according to Standard Sport, talks over a new deal have failed to progress, opening the door to Spurs who are prepared to treble his wages.

the lad will be gone by the end of the week. Head Turned, London Life, we wont stand a chance! Even if he stays it will be against his will!

His lack of pace won't be a problem if he signs for us though because we play such a deep defensive line under Pulis that there is no space in behind. A centre back pairing of McAuley and Lescott got the 2nd most clean sheets in the Premiership last season, if they played for Spurs under the high presssing, high line that Pochettino employs then Spurs would have probably been relegated with zero clean sheets.

Fazio is no slower than McAuley, Lescott or Olsson and is 5 years younger than all of them which is the main positive for me about the potential transfer. Also, I read he had the highest win:loss ratio of aerial duels last season. I don't think we should turn our noses up at him when it is more likely he will reject us - he was Sevilla's captain a season or two ago.

Still got a feeling that Lescott and/or Olsson will leave before the transfer deadline.
Jonas had a decent game at Watford but IMO has struggled for a couple of seasons. Really hope Lescott stays and signs a new contract but the Villa interest doesn't seem to be going away.
Might explain why we are looking at yet another centre back.
Please god don't sell Lescott to the Villa Angry

Get used to the idea, my gut says Spurs will come with a deal for Berahino which includes Fazio which we will accept and as soon as it is done JL will be off down the A41, of course there is the other option where we just buy Fazio, but same result.

Salopbaggie,
That scenario is looking more and more likely isn't it  Sad
From everything coming out of the club it's going to be a very busy 2 weeks up to deadline day.
On talksport the excellent South American reporter was saying that Fazio like most Argentinian CB's is slow but excellent point that he may suit our more defensive approach.
Fingers crossed he isn't another Lugano !

This is why TP wants Matt Phillips. Mind you, it is only against Wolves.

If we sell Saido just splash it on Austin and Phillips that's 30 goals

Apparently, Charlie Austin's got a knee issue - he failed a medical at Hull in July 2013 when he was a Burnley player. Bummer.
