Jonny Evans.........£12m....Really? He's not worth that.

Dennis Praet..........£7m, never really heard of him until the hype and if press to be believed doesn't want to come and prefers the Vile.?

Demarai Gray, YES PLEASE but he will cost more than £4m

I've got an Idea, Play Chester who cost £8m in the CB role which is where he plays, Play wingers on the wings and not Gardner and Morrison.

Try Gamboa at Right Back which is where he plays, Poco at Left back which is where he plays. Both are good enough IMO.

I agreed we needed TP last season BUT after our first 2 games (and yes I know its very early in the season) I have been bitterly disappointed with our tactics and team selection. Some decisions have been baffling.

I watched MOTD and I have to say ourselves and Sunderland look embarrassing compared to the rest, NO PACE, NO WIDTH, NO PASSION.

Sadly I am not excited about incoming signings at the minute because apart from Rondon (know nothing about) and Gnabry (a new talent as hardly played for the Arse) and maybe Lambert.

Oh for another Bryan Robson, Laurie Cunningham, Cyrille Regis, Len Cantello, Bomber Brown, Willie Johnston & Kevin Phillips. Any of you not old enough you will never know what you missed.

A points a point come the end of the season BUT we are desperate for flair, attacking football and something to lift the fans. I will defer judgement on TP but I'm already running out of patience....PUT PLAYERS IN THEIR NORMAL POSITIONS!!  Rant over

Pretty much agree with that WorldClass but I still have hope that TP knows what he's doing and things will improve (if they don't I give up)

The problem now is that non of ' Bryan Robson, Laurie Cunningham, Cyrille Regis, Len Cantello, Bomber Brown, Willie Johnston & Kevin Phillips' would sign for us. Those days have gone.
I remember Atkinson taking our best with him to Man U and hating it - BUT - (obviously) Man U were the bigger team, bigger ground, more fans, more money - as much as I hated them for it (and still do) they'd sort of won that right. Now anyone billionaire can pick a team and play Football Manager with it.

I think we all want the team - whoever is in it - to have a flipping go. I want Man City to come to The Shrine and cack their pants knowing none of our players would get in their team but will battle for the whole game. They can take their 3 points but should wake up knowing they'd earned them........................... Angry

Sorry, forgot which thread this is.......... No need for keeper, Evans is pants and please sign a midfield with creativity

Agree about keeper.
No idea how good Evans is but SURELY we don't need another centre back. The only explanation is that TP is building up a collection and is trying to get the full set. Expect John Terry and Dave Mackay to be the surprise signings.

What worries me is that Pulis seems to love 4-4-2 but we don't have many midfielders good enough to play in a 4, if any.

Despite that, all the links seem to be for players in other positions.

I presume Chester was bought for the right back position. Personally, I think it's harsh to write him off in that position already based on one game against Man City. I certainly wouldn't throw him in at centre back at the expense of McAuley, who we look lost without and saved us again yesterday by sticking his head in front of a striker's boot...

I can honestly see Saido going to Man City or United as you can't challenge for the title with just 2 strikers (In City's case) and United seem to have nothing more than a bang off form Rooney. If he does go to Spurs like the tabloids suggest, Townsend must be coming the other way as a bare minimum...

Another worry is that based on our transfer activity so far, links and memory of what he did at Stoke, that Pulis is fantastic at getting the best out of average players but actually a bit lost when it comes to pushing teams on. His interview after yesterday's game suggested that with all the investment we'll be pushing on for top half, but can't help thinking we'll be lucky to finish in 17th with the uninspiring start and money wasted on championship standard fodder like James Mclean.

Tottenham are ready to make a £15m bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 22, this week, with defender Joleon Lescott, 33, midfielder Stephane Sessegnon, 31, and forwards Brown Ideye, 26, and Victor Anichebe, 27, also set to be allowed to leave The Hawthorns for acceptable offers. (Telegraph)

Letting Lescott, Sessegnon and Ideye go would be stupid. Take the Telegraph with a pinch of salt.

Express & Star reporting we are in for Evans again. We do not need more Centre backs unless we are offloading some!

We need ball winners and people that can hold on to the ball!

I wont judge the team until the window is closed however! It's unfair to be cheering and exciting about Rondon, and then a week later be bitter and downhearted about the team!

The league has just kicked off, who knows where we will end up , I still think Top half

I think we can safely say that we won't be finishing top-half. Nothing at all is making any sense.

Players playing in strange positions when we have other players that are supposed to play in them positions.
Letting Mulumbu go.
Being 'linked' to even more CB's.
Buying McLean.
Buying wingers and not using them.
Buying another 'keeper.
'Dropping' Lescott.
Lescott being allowed to leave?
Sess being allowed to leave?
Buying Rondon.
Parking the bus at Watford
Bringing Vic on against City
The huuuge gap between our midfield and our strikers... Doh

...I'm confused... Huh

LESCOTT 'EXTENDS BAGGIES DEAL'

West Brom defender Joleon Lescott has agreed a new deal to extend his stay at The Hawthorns, according to HITC Sport.

Lescott's future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks after Aston Villa reportedly submitted a bid for the former England defender.

The 32-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract at Albion after signing a two-year deal when joining the club from Manchester City last summer.
