Shit (extended) weekend

Saturday- Town lose to Leeds
Sunday- as rough as a...well we'll leave it at that.
Monday- turn up to work still feeling rough(it's some sort of cold....honest), find out that I'm the only person working due to holidays and sickness and then told that our head office burnt to the ground at the weekend...good job we were paid on Friday.

You also have managers referring to clubs as projects that grates more than americanisms with.me actually thinking about it

I don't mind that so much, I loved the US world cup song, "hit that soccer ball and awesome" were the stand out lyrics

I don't think that was the official US World Cup song; you're thinking of Kick That Soccer Ball by USA Soccer Guy (Twitter comedian), his whole thing is to parody the way that American commentators talk about football, and satirise the way that British people think all Americans are like that.

Gutted, just gutted, just watched the video and it's clearly a parody, how could lyrics "turn the awesomeness up" treated like that. I listened to selected lines on five live during the world cup and they didn't seem to it a spoof song, in fact iirc they were pretty put out it said hit and not kick that soccer ball at one point.

I liked that chant that USA fans did during the World Cup "I believe that we will win!"

The chant originated with Sporting Kansas City in MLS, who are a really good set of supporters. Their home end is called the Cauldron, and when they do the "I believe" chant it's heart-stopping. There have been home matches when SKC are in a stalemate, and the final ten minutes has just been the entire stadium jumping up and down chanting "I believe that we will win" until they've scored the winning goal.
