Feb 1st (Final Day): WBA January 2016 Transfer Window
So three weeks to go until kick off weekend for the Premiership and as usual we are all still sitting waiting.  Extremely scary when you remember last year, I can see the Christmas headlines now.  "West Brom blames lack of form on not having a squad of players for preseason".

You can get away with bringing one or two players in at the last minute, but when you think we need probably need 6 or 7, at least 4 or 5. Just when are these players supposed to gel together? assuming we buy anyone at all

Why do we have to do the same thing year on year, buy at the end of the window, then blame lack of a pre season on the poor form of players and the team.

Reminds me of that quote that is nearly always wrongly credited to Einstein.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result

Been away for a week and come back to find that we've done nothing when our
competition have been splashing the cash on proven internationals.

Worrying times to say the least.

1 bog standard journeyman signed so far, a squad full of aging players who have been
treading water at this level for the last 3 years and a tentative link to an overpriced
keeper who doesn't seem to be anything better than what we have.

Surely we should be investing cash in the outfield squad. Picking up a decent cover keeper
for free isn't exactly difficult.

No idea what's going on at the moment, the vast majority of players we're being
linked with are poor and overpriced, we're taking too long to do anything and
the balance of our squad seems like a shambles.

Things need to start moving fast...

And it will be swiftly rejected, £15m barely gets you a championship winger these days. Double it and we might actually pick up the phone.

I can't see Saido leaving this summer tbh, if he does we are as good as relegated.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis wants to agree a new contract with Saido Berahino once the season is under way amid speculation Tottenham are interested in the 21-year-old striker. (Birmingham Mail) DD Angel Angel

I get the distinct impression that the club seem to be happy with the squad the way it is.

Do we need an Austin if we've already got an Ideye, for example.

I don't mind the club Keeping Ideye and Berahino, and I think Mclean and Mcmanaman will do a decent job on the flanks.

However, if anyone of those 4 players get injured, I think were screwed in terms of shape and threat. IMO we need 1 GOOD striker, and 1 good player who fills in in terms of CM/AM/Winger (unless TP starts using sessegnon more frequently.)

Having seen us in the transfer season of late, I would be happy with 2 good players, and I don't think that's too much to ask

I really think we need full backs, and a winger and striker would be very useful. Pulis has a reputation for doing business late and we're delayed by the takeover but I think we might get something done soon now we're back in England. Our deals often aren't reported in advance so hopefully we'll get a pleasant surprise.

I find it strange that were are supposedly interested in Ricky Lambert.

Do we really need another 30+ year old whose goals have seemingly dried up.

Surely this is just paper talk and if other clubs are interested in him then, good luck to them....after you!
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
