So the yanks took the fifa world cup 5-2. They were streets ahead of Japan. Actually, the owls could use that Rapinoe and Lloyd duo. They were FANTASTIC!!!

And as for Hope Solo. She was DELICIOUS!!!!!   Heart Heart

This isn't her though. Imre gets all excited if I post too many pics of Hope. Laugh

Yes, they were clinical in front of goal yesterday, worthy winners of their 3rd World Cup title.

A result against Japan was never in doubt.

Hope is a local (for me) celebrity Richland High School 'Bomber' who happen to have a mushroom cloud as their symbol !!!

To be fair it wouldn't take a lot of effort to improve womens football in England, especially at grass roots level and just the exposure and attention it has received will help.  Ironically the women's league in England has been one of the most stable in the sport, certainly more stable than the US version which has folded a couple of times!!  I always think its a shame that Wednesday do not have a women's team associated with them, maybe now we have some money DC can create one!!

Bizzare logo but seeing the history of the school and the role atomic bombs plays in it, then it becomes more understandable, but still not exactly a mascot or logo that provides a warm and fuzzy feeling!!!

Interest in women's football is much greater amongst fans of clubs that have a women's team.

Wednesday used to have a decent women's team when John Harkes wife played for them.

I'll tell you..that US women's team could sure give our bunch a lesson in how to make the most of set plays. 4 of their 5 goals were from corners or free kicks. Thumb up Thumb up Thumb up

On the contrary, I think most atomic bombs do give people a warm and fuzzy feeling once they've exploded so I can understand the logo Cool
