Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips for £22 million. It's the sort of revolution we've been waiting for. I would definitely get Charlie Austin.

22 mill for Austin and Phillips?

Liverpool spent 12 on Sturridge!!! I don't know if we're being ripped off here surely we could get something better for 22 million?

Probably could do mate but i think Pulis is reluctant to bring in players from abroad he'll always shop in the British Isles first (safer option perhaps!) I don't think we'll see a great deal of imagination in the transfer market while he's in charge

I honestly don't think you can pin any kind of concrete cash value on players anymore; the economics of football have become pure supply & demand, and every new TV deal blurs the lines even more with money flooding into the market and fees becoming more inflated.

The fact is, any football club who knows their business will know that we badly lack pace in our side and need goals.  They'll also know we've got money to spend.  If they've got any sense, they'll squeeze us dry in return for proven talent.  We've tried going down the road of spending our money "better" elsewhere, and it's landed us with guys like Ideye (lovely bloke and flashes of real talent, but hasn't really done what we needed him to do in the long-term).

Unfortunately, I think our moneyball system died when Ashworth left, and for now we're going to have to suck it up and pay over the odds for players we need.

Hope you are wrong about that Strollers.

If it's going to take upwards of six weeks for the sale of the Club to be completed, the transfer window will be nearly over by then.
That will leave us choosing our prospective new players from the 'leftovers'.

Not a happy prospect after last season's last minute transfer debacle.

Also I can't see TP staying on if his hands are tied until the Club sale is a done deal.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.

I think Jeremy Peace has said the takeover process won't halt or otherwise affect preparations for the new season, including getting new players.
Go to the Albion website and look under News for Official Statement, then paragraphs 3-5. Sorry, can't do C&P.

So FFP is not enforcable then..............

Manchester City are set to spend more than £100m on transfers this summer after having their transfer restrictions lifted by Uefa, with the club chasing 22-year-old Paul Pogba, Kevin De Bruyne, 24, Raheem Sterling, 20, and 25-year-old Fabian Delph. (Daily Telegraph)

Probably on £90-100,000 a week. Still surprised no one come in for him in the Premier League
