So if Scotland goes independent, how will this affect sport? Will we still have what is now known as Great Britain and Northern Ireland? Will the Scots be having their own teams? Will Andy Murray represent GB in the Davis Cup.
These questions are far more important than what currency will be being used. Does anybody know?

Andy Murray won't be able to play for GB, he will become a bloody foreigner if they choose independence!!!!
Seriously though, independence for Scotland will definitely cause some rethinking of the team names and how we compete. I would have thought they would expect to be entering competitions as Scotland, maybe we would enter now as the UK?? I have never figured why we entered the Olympics as GB and NI anyway??

SCO - it would totally depend on whether we thought we could win them on our own. Certainly we wouldn't be bullied into any decision by the RoUK!
I would imagine that we would compete as Scotland and the rest would compete as the UK. We already compete as Scotland in football, rugby, cricket, curling, and many other sports, so that wouldn't change. Ireland compete in rugby and cricket as the whole island and certain sportsmen have been known to compete for Northern Ireland in one competition and Ireland in another. So the one major difference might be in the Team GB Olympics events.
Does anybody know the position involving the descriptions Great Britain and the British Isles? Geographically, we will still be in the British Isles, so would we still be part of Great Britain?

Scottish athletes live in England to train anyway because England has top facilities. Some will train in the states.
Scotland will compete on there own in the Olympics, Commonwealth games etc.

I've been a bit confused about the perception of the No campaign being the negative one. The Yes campaign was full of rhetoric about the UK government is taking this, that and the other from us, starving our children, stealing our oil money etc. The No campaign was based in realism, not negativity. The Yes campaign was a mixture of cloud cuckoo land peronism and negativity towards the union and towards No backers. Alex Salmon saying the big businesses and banks were coerced into making statements about what would happen in the event of a Yes vote? Give me a break.
