Didn't realise you could do that once a game had started. Maybe if Yorks had batted first and not got to the point where he had batted yet then OK if you can show a genuine (injury based?) reason but not after Notts have batted. Is Bairstow also now allowed behind the stumps for the second innings, being as it's classed a specialist position that 12th men etc. can't field in?
A guide to cask ale.

Multi-tasking. I can listen, ignore and forget all at the same time.

Ecb want their fringe players to play. See it often that spare players get released to counties and just slot in

Well Lyth didn't get much batting practice for the Ashes. A duck in the first innings and then didn't get to bat because YORKSHIRE WON BY AN INNINGS. Big Grin

Team News (courtesy of Yorkshire CCC website):

Yorkshire welcome back Jonathan Bairstow and Adil Rashid to the squad after their heroics for England in the recent One-Day and T20 series against New Zealand.
Young seamer Ben Coad is also drafted into the 13-man squad after some impressive performances in the second XI. If he plays it will be his NatWest T20 Blast debut.
Experienced seamer Tim Bresnan is not considered for selection.
“Tim has not performed as well as we know he can with the ball in the T20 competition and we see this as a good opportunity to give someone else a go,” said first team coach Jason Gillespie.
“With a heavy month of cricket coming up, we also see benefit in Tim having an extra day of downtime before our LV= County Championship match at Durham starting on Sunday.”

Yorkshire Vikings squad: Jonathan Bairstow (w), Ben Coad, Aaron Finch, Matthew Fisher, Andrew Gale ©, Ryan Gibson, Andrew Hodd, Jack Leaning, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Patterson, Richard Pyrah, Adil Rashid, Will Rhodes.
