But, if this sportscaster were on this side of the Atlantic, I think he'd be fired:

Dodgy

Disgusting, disrespectful comments. Never have I had urges to let loose on a woman who was so drunk that she couldn't consent. Tarring every male with the same brush because he wants to try to justify rape

I am amazed he hasn't been fired for those comments!! Sure if he was talking about teenage pregnancy or SSDs then his comments are technically correct but they are not applicable in situations of rape where any choice has been removed by the rapist!!

And with specific reference to the Ched Evans case, where I think an injustice may have occurred is with the other guy getting off, not with CE being convicted. At the time, some people were saying the verdict was unfair because they both should have been treated equally. I agree but not in the way people were discussing. I always found it odd how the other guy got off.

To be fair, the other guy had consent, or at least that's what the jury concluded from the evidence.  Bringing in Ched was not consensual, not sure if thats a crime as the "inviting" party or not.

It would have been sound advice but he spoiled it with the last bit of the sentence.

If he'd been talking about muggers and then said keep your valuables in your handbag/wallet he'd have been congratulated for his public information advice.

Rightly or wrongly women/girls/daughters do have to be advised on these things and to be careful, just like I advise my sons to be aware of situations that could be misinterpreted as such. We can't pretend that rapists don't exist and that there aren't sexual predators out there so its best to err on the side of caution. IMO.
